Thanks to PC for stepping in when he did, he may not have achieved what he set out to do, but guess that's life and as much as there will be lots of negatives thrown at it, I still believe we are in a better position than we would have been without his intervention.

I guess its time to find out if you are a Barrow AFC supporter of just 'a follower'.. if you fall into the supporter group, its time to do just that... a new era starts Saturday, be nice to have a good crowd and a good result to set us on our way.

If everyone starts with the negativity it will eat through all the early promise this season has shown. Agreed the results havent exactly been pulling up big trees, but I for one have enjoyed watching this year than many of the previous one...

I hope his "dads legacy" was to give us some shit floodlights, numerous broken promises and nothing better than we have seen before otherwise he has failed massively. Now if Andrew could [SwearFilter] off too and then the supporters will pick up the pieces as per.

Not totally unexpected given the budget cuts etc but this has been a massive failure and I can imagine a few will be saying I told you so now.

Goes after we exit the fa cup how appropriate now the possibility of money coming in through a cup run has stopped the mans a fraud. The fact that nothing has been mentioned might suggest that although Casson is stepping down as chairman he will retain ownership of the club and its assets, including the ground. That's a concern if so.

Yeah, like the roof on the Holker end, new toilets, new stands, etc. So glad he stuck to his promises that swayed a very suspecting group of supporters to completely change the clubs structure to allow the fraud to take over in the first place.

Casson says Hornby stepped up to take over and Hornbys saying Casson rang him and he agreed to be interim chairman.

Bar a promotion and cup run which weve had numerous times in my 30 years, he achieved nothing more that than previous chairman despite his lofty promises.
The ground is worse than ever, a team altho good to watch will be lower mid table at best and attendances and bickering between different sections of fans the same as when he took over.
Good luck to the new guy but seriously doubtful he will have the financial clout needed to keep us in this league for long

Yes its stated Mr Hornby is a interim appointment.
I think we could move from Holker street ,but i am sure Paul Casson will want to leave a legacy more than empty promises

Let's not start with that nonsense. In all likelihood, there would still have been a club. We almost certainly would not have been at this level, but there would still have been a club.

I don't thank Paul Casson, he's been a massive let down and failed at what he apparently set out to do. He's broken 90% of the promises he's made and apart from a cheap set of floodlights he's left us with absolutely nothing as his legacy. Off the pitch we're as hapless as we were when he took over, aside from said floodlights the ground is in the same state it was, despite the success of the U21s so far this season we still have no real youth set up and will now go back to signing average to poor journeymen as opposed to slightly above average ones which will likely see us drop back to Conference North in the near future. We're a million miles away from the legacy Casson promised.

Thank him? Well I suppose the hope (albeit false) of something better was good whilst it briefly lasted for 18 months or so. But no, in reality there's not a lot else to thank him for.

Think this is a very fair & accurate description of the last few years. Despite this I will say thanks to PC for giving it a go.

Good luck to Paul Hornby who I know is an avid Barrow AFC supporter & a very intelligent guy. Feeling very optimistic about this news & confident in which the way the club will be run moving forward.

Yes he has failed in many respects BUT he has cleared our debts, given us a club now in the National League and kept us going far longer than we would otherwise have been. As for the club structure the members club didn't have pot to [SwearFilter] in.

If your comments included a bit of balance ie thanks for what you've done but feel very let down by promises etc then that's reasonable but to simply ignore the good and whinge about the bad is pathetic.

I can't see how a local chartered accountancy company can possibly have the financial resources to support a National League club.

You obviously have no idea about Paul Hornby. Things will be undoubtedly more shrewed, intelligently & professionally run now. Watch this space.
