If Rooney's free kick had not hit the bar/post in the first half we would have been celebrating a hat trick hero. He had a fantastic first half .

In the first half hour our football was superb, some of the passing was sublime, Gateshead were chasing shadows. It's a pity Rooney's free kick hit the bar, a hat trick would have been nice to see. The second half was poor, we never had a shot on target and we gave them chances to get back into the game. It was disappointing that our performance tailed off, but nevertheless great to finish off an enjoyable season with a win.

Rough head count I could see just over 420 in the Gateshead stand it also contained at least half a dozen Barrow fans perhaps more.
A fantastic first half Rooney was unlucky not to have scored a hat trick. A first half emphatically controlled by the bluebirds was follwed by two two sides happy to cancel each other out for large chunks of the second half.
Happy with my lot, a good night in South Shields and the curry mile last night followed a decent session post match at the Schooner and very welcoming they were too. Followed by a night of intrigue on the streets of Newcastle. Need to rest my ageing limbs now as there will be days out a plenty next season, including pastures new to explore.

enjoyed the afternoon made even better by the announcer on tannoy telling the 4th official to "hurry up you stupid women"

I would like to thank the Gateshead fans yesterday for moving seats so we could get four of us there home end.
They really couldn't do enough to make sure our fan who was struggling seen the game.
