Does anyone know if any of our players are close to a suspension ?

If they are say one away would a booking in the Ebbsfleet match come into force for the Atherton Trophy tie.

Also I didn't get the chance to buy a programme at the Fylde game but I understand their Chairman wrote something about Ian Evatt.

I have in the past suggested that the man with a long name has something of a reputation and is not universally loved in Fylde itself. Irrespective of the truth of anything he has stated in the Programme notes (why is the Owner actually writing programme notes anyway?) to do so in a way that is targeted to undermine the officials of the club you are playing, take a childish swipe at someone who you once coveted greatly and insult the poor guy who he did appoint, says all you need to know about the dignity and professionalism of a person.

All these words convey is how totally PI**ED OFF he is that he didn't get his way and how much this man does not like "losing". I agree with Radio Cumbria earlier when they suggested that the entire staff of Fylde must feel totally embarrassed at this childish spat.

Nothing would ever surprise me in football and there's much that we didn't know about what exactly went on in October but if IE ever had any doubts that he made the right decision not to work for this guy he must now be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Jim Bentley on the other hand should be checking his bank balance and phoning a friend.

Some very strange distortions of truth in the statement. For example as far as I'm aware you cant renege on an agreement to subvert a legally binding contract. Secondly to actually reach the point where you do reach such an agreement you are in fact inciting someone to break their contract. This is virtually an open admission that Fylde were inciting Evatt to break his contract. Unless of course the Barrow Board actually gave Evatt permission to speak freely to Fylde (contrary to what we saw and were told at the time). Even if this were the case its pleasing to see what the result actually was.

I think Haythornthwaite actually did us a favour because we emerged out of that affair stronger and in a better position to repel similar offers. I know many people in Kirkham & Wesham and they are just like the rest of us really. We joke about the history and longevity of their club but they are generally thankful that someone gave them an opportunity to support a locally developed club. However my repost is and will always be that far from being a community club, Fylde is in fact just one man's plaything and what is given can and in his case probably will be taken away at some point.

As far as suspensions go Taylor and Hardcastle are on 7 with the 10 booking cut-off after the 37th game. So 10 games to avoid 3 bookings. Next are Barry and Brown on 6 and Hird, Kay and Brough on 5.
