Rare Barrow Shirt
The shirt is from the Dover v Barrow FA Trophy game, from what I was told the Barrow team turned with one kit that clashed with the Dover shirt and ended up having to go to a local sports shop in Dover and getting a set of shirts made.

Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
Never new that and I was there! Where did u find this?
Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
What a trip that was. Club ran official coaches. A night on the town then jump on the Midnight Express from Ramsden Sq. 1000 fans landing in Dover at 9am looking for breakfast and the first bar to open. Ended 1-1 Should have won that game. Think Dover had a man sent off and (Marc Coates?) scored ours with an overhead kick. The replay the following Tuesday night really fired thr imagination and drew a 4000+ crowd. Climbing over walls to get in. Highlights of both games are out there somewhere. Different days then, 22 years. gulp. Dover got the better of us in the pen shoot out and progressed to the semi final

The Barn Studio Hawkshead was then owned by Stuart Fife who at the time was a director at Barrow AFC.

Indeed. They were hastily produced but not in a Dover sports shop. ICIS were based in West Cumbria iirc, before they diversified into global jihad.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 8:10 pm The Barn Studio Hawkshead was then owned by Stuart Fife who at the time was a director at Barrow AFC.

Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
Great night thanks for posting. Really sad to see that HSE roof, the atmosphere at HS died when it was removed.
Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
I used to have one of those, sold it at a very reasonable rate to one of our fellow forum users.

Definitely Coates for the goal, remember us all singing 'bring on the champions' as the team came out, it was deafening!Jonty wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 7:49 pm What a trip that was. Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
Was a strange year for shirts that. Think we started with a blue and white icis one... can’t remember the sponsor. Then for some reason it went to the white and black one half way thru.

Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
We switched because the away form was better than the home form so they decided to wear the away shirt at home.

Re: Rare Barrow Shirt
I recall that match with fondness!! I was in the Army at the time based in Chatham, Kent. Got the train to Dover the Saturday morning with my mate and.............Barrovian Bedlam!! Got off at Dover Priory to a raft of Barra fans laid asleep on the station benches from the night before and the town was absolutely buzzing.........at 0900hrs!!!
Always recall Barra filling the away end with thousands......Dover had never seen anything like it. I seem to recall that Peter Taylor (ex England?) was their manager at the time?? May be incorrect.
Great day out - great memories!!
