Re: Decisions being made
Nice words Mr Tattersall. Pity you couldn't have just said that six weeks ago when it was just as blatantly obvious.
We know the reason you didn't say these things six weeks ago of course. It was because the NL were delusional and didn't really believe at the time these things were obvious at all. In fact you believed that a nice tidy void was probably just the ticket at the end of March didn't you? Remember when you went to the FA asking them for permission to void after they had done the very same to clubs at Steps 3-7?
Also like the way you've sort of handed this off responsibility to the FA claiming that the Premiership. EFL and NL solution would be "expected" to correlate. Is that perhaps acknowledging that far from being an obvious and clever decision the voiding of the lower leagues by the FA might now not look too good when subjected to scrutiny.?
You seem to have acquired retrospective wisdom Mr Tattersall. But its nice to put a name to the tosspot.

Re: Decisions being made
Because of the constitution of the football leagues it has been obvious (and I’ve said so on here weeks ago), that nothing is going to happen until PL decide their own fate. The decisive driving force for them to do that is money, which we all know is a vulgar commodity.
EFL can’t possibly decide promotion/relegation until PL decide if 3 clubs are going down, and consequently 3 are going up. The knock on effects throughout the EFL and into the NL are obvious.
It is not a complex situation, it just needs (and has needed for sometime) a decisive hand at the top end. Everything else should follow a pattern.
That said, I feel for some of the teams in the leagues below NLN&S who declared their seasons void what seems like ages ago. Crazily it may be that that prevents the teams at the bottom of NLN&S from being relegated.
Impossible to predict, despite hundreds of posts on this thread, but as I see it whatever is decided, Barrow have a banker - the expulsion of Bury, and that, irrespective of any other consideration, will see us in L2 next season. Will be well into 2021 before we can watch at Holker St though.

Re: Decisions being made
Fair comment there htb; the thing troubling the average Barrow supporter was the spectre of the old boy’s club network. These days there is more transparency and the pyramid system is in place and interconnected. On merit, and when the season ended, we were top of the league that is a fact; anything else is conjecture.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Re: Decisions being made
Hope you are right HTB.
Two things the EFL could do if the Premier League continues to argue amongst itself. If Rick Parry believes that the EFL have a "contractual" right to promote three teams from the Championship he could try and accelerate that process either by announcing plans for the Championship to complete or even by calling the entire EFL with Leeds as champions. He will be naturally suspicious of any move by the team in the bottom 6 of the Prem to secure a voiding - though that does not seem to be the preference. As long as the Prem indicates it will have a result, I suspect that the Championship will shadow the Premiership.
More likely perhaps is that you'll see a break between the Championship and L1/2. To me this is looking like the most probable next piece of the jigsaw (i.e. that L1/L2 could well be declared and probably with promotion and relegation). Having trolled a few League forums there seems to be a lot of gossip to this effect some informed, some not.

Wonder what Coventry and Rotherham would say about that, to name but two?Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 2:29 pm Hope you are right HTB.

Re: Decisions being made
Whatever the EFL does, it'll very probably keep the rules the same for each of its divisions. So Coventry and Rotherham should be happy bunnies because they'll get automatic promotion to the Championship without having to contest the rest of the season.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 2:51 pmWonder what Coventry and Rotherham would say about that, to name but two?Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 2:29 pm Hope you are right HTB.

The issues if at all will probably come with the third promotion place. This could be a real problem for a couple of reasons. Firstly three up from L1 must be based on three promotions from the Championship. That cannot as yet be confirmed until the Premier League have sorted themselves out. Secondly because there would be no L1 play-offs you'd be promoting Oxford Utd based on a superior goal difference in third. Portsmouth and Fleetwood might not be very happy about that. Same goes for promotion from L2.
Oddly enough the Bury factor makes the relegation issue a little less tense in L1 as the team finishing 21st (Tranmere) would normally have been relegated anyway as would the team above (Wimbledon). Same applies at the bottom of L2. They would be relegating one less team than usual which must make it less of an issue.
Also keep an eye on Macclesfield. Despite just about surviving despite the last points deductions I have it on reasonable authority that the report produced to support the latest points deduction also found Macclesfield not to be able to currently satisfy the EFL of its ability to meet its ongoing financial obligations. It would have to do this before being confirmed for 2020/21. Dont think it will change the number of clubs coming up from the NL - though it is looking increasingly likely that this will be two - but it might affect who it is that goes down.

Re: Decisions being made
If that's true our chances of promotion to L2 probably have just risen by 10%HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 4:29 pm FA Chairman Greg Clarke has told Premier League clubs today the governing body will not sanction “no relegation” or voiding the season
Re: Decisions being made
I’d say at least 12%

Re: Decisions being made
Sutton Utd. fan in peace.
I'd just like to say how informative and entertaining this thread is. I've visited it many times as it seems to me to be the best current source of info, anywhere, regarding the end of the 19/20 season. Some really well argued points and plenty of them. Good analysis and no pointless squabbling. Puts other Fans' Forums to shame, tbh.
Hope you go up, btw (although, a shame to lose you)!
