Jim Parmenter is always pi55ed off at the crowds Dover get - and he has a right to be. Dover have done remarkably well in recent seasons and still struggle get over 1,000 on a regular basis.

We shouldn't be too surprised because the FA has already sanctioned an extension to the NL season. However, you dont actively engage with these guys on play-off protocols if you are intent on voiding your season. More evidence of the NL moving into line with the EFL. Now if only we can get the EFL to approve their framework and confirm two up....?

They are an unprofessional bunch at the NL without anybody pulling the strings from the centre. Because of that, outcomes can be more unpredictable. I've no doubt that given a free rein they could come up with something completely barmy.

The way you deal with these guys is to do exactly what Parry is doing at the EFL. You fit them with a loose straightjacket and gently tighten it until they choke and submit. In the case of the NL the straightjacket will be mainly composed of the EFL framework together with the legal obligations set out in the NLs own regulations. That's why I've always been convinced that the key to promotion is two up because that probably defeats even the most fiendish of biases.

Nevertheless, this, coupled with the Rotherham chairman's research, suggests the EFL framework will be accepted. My glass is beginning to become half full.

Nice to see your glass actually filling up a bit Nigel. So it looks like the L1 play-on proposal is pretty dead. If so, all the remaining L1 rebels will probably try and swing behind the Tranmere proposal but that has some specific objectivity issues and its perceived value is diluted if you try and apply it outside of L1.

I've an inkling now as to how the EFL board will try and run Tuesday's this meeting. I think they will separate the proposals that affect promotion and relegation from those that want to play with PPG to influence play-offs. In terms of the former there are two amendments proposed, the Barnsley one (no relegation) and the Stevenage one (no L2 relegation).

The Barnsley one (partly as they are the more senior club) will have priority and will very probably be discussed first. Also if it were passed the Stevenage one would probably be voted through automatically. There is a big however out there though. That is there appears to be very little support generally speaking for promotion without relegation across all divisions because of what it does to League sizes and the fact that it creates a solution that then has to be reversed 12 months later. It also fails the "on merit" test. It would also require FA sanction. It would also save Barnsley and Bolton both of whom are miles adrift in their divisions so is likely to be seen very much as an act of self-interest if not desperation.

I think this is the weakest of all the proposals. More importantly, if it were to fail then the Stevenage proposal probably fails with it, the only additional arguments available to them relating to the ability of the NL to operate next season and take the relegated club. I suspect the Lincoln proposal (treatment of penalties in calculation of PPG) will pass allowing Stevenage at least some expectation that they may not in the end be relegated, but I'm not sure any specific discussion regarding Macclesfield can happen as they've already been referred to an independent tribunal.

On the other hand, it could all go t*ts up.

Good link Barry Fry looks good he played on the wing for Barnet I think .
He was the Manager but must have been short of players and like me was a roly poly.

And just to explain to you you covid19 is part of a group of viruses [ the coronaviruses ] where all of the others in the group have been proven to develop a herd immunity so it is pretty certain that this one will too, none of the experts disagree on that what's in dispute is the depth of the immunity and how long it lasts or are you trying to tell us that you know better on that as well ?
