Was it really ever in doubt !

Oh my god little old Barrow AFC a football team at the end of the longest cul de sac in the world are on the football leagie. BECAUSE WE ARE CHAMPIONS .I was 20 when we
were kicked out. And right now I am in floods of tears and can hardly read what I 'm posting.

My congratulations to Paul Casson for pulling Evo out of a hat. The new board for what they have done in what seems like five minutes. To Ryan and all the staff behind the scenes. The fans for turnong ip in droves And not forgetting all the amazing volunteers who worked so damned hard for months to getthe club looking likei t does.

And finally Ian Evatt. The magic man who has got the team playing like nothing we"ve before at this level.
Still can't believe it.

Right, back to the vodka 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

Like many older fans I'm a bit emotional at the moment. Still do not quite believe it. Often dreamed of what it would be like to go back into the football league. I can't believe I've become so old. I was 18 in 1972. It seemed like another lifetime ago now. Will have a drink later tonight just a cup of tea at the moment!!! Very unlike me!!! Living in Altrincham I'm going to give some Alti mates a bit of stick now as they suggested we'd never go up - to be fair it was not really meant and they were hoping we'd get the nod. I just have this urge to get in the car drive the 100 miles to Holker St beep my horn going round the ground then drive home. On second thoughts I think I will have that drink :scarf: :skill:

Brilliant news ... Well done to all concerned ... 'Semper Sursum' . :scarf:

I remember walking over Greengate Street bridge reading the sad news from the Evening Mail on a sunny evening back in 1972 ...

It's been a very long wait - but this season has been one to remember . Superb :skill:
First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )

Always on here as a lurker, but had to join the party today. A huge congrats to all involved with the club, Including us fans for the realization of a dream. I’ve never known us a being anything other than non-league, today is a landmark day and I love the irony of being promoted by a vote given the end of our previous league status.

A special thanks especially to all those who in the dark times brought the club back from the brink, be it in positions of power or volunteering to pick up litter, paint walls, cut the pitch and renovate tired old buildings, you have all played your part in making this dream become a reality.

May the new generation look forward to League away days than the cold winter nights at a blustery Emley Moor or Moss Lane.

I’ll be cracking the good whisky out tonight! 🥃

All Bluebirds are Blue!

Orient fan here. I saw our two teams meet as a young kid in the late 60s at Brisbane Road in the old Third Division, and for some reason always followed your fortunes after then. Only a few years later I was very sad to see you unfairly voted out the Football League, and as a result you became my second team I always looked out for after the O’s. I made a point of visiting Holker Street during one of my many Lake District breaks and always hoped that one day you’d return.

In recent years my son has grown up supporting Peterborough, so Posh have edged you to my third team, but I’m delighted – as is my son who also looks out for you – and it’s good to say “Welcome back”! :)
