Moist.

On the day we got kicked out I went out to try to drink myself into oblivion, but was so choked I couldn't swallow my beer. I am happy to report I have no such problem tonight.

And sparing a thought for all the poor souls who just missed out on seeing it.

Finished shift pattern tonight.

I think I'll have a few beers while reading all the comments across the platforms. Let me know if you think I don't deserve it.

On behalf of Barrow AFC National Supporters' Club, may I congratulate everyone concerned in this momentous achievement. I think the Cassons deserve much credit, particularly for finding one Ian Evatt. The new board, led by Chairman Paul Hornby, deserve our thanks and utmost respect. Ryan, Anya and the others (many of whom are volunteers) do a great job behind the scenes. The manager and his team have done an amazing job with limited funds. The players have risen to the occasion and we have seen, not one, but two seasons (well, almost) of superb football of a style that many said could never win anything at this level. Let's not forget Ian Rainford and his volunteers who have transformed parts of the Holker Street Stadium and continue to do so, and also the Supporters' Trust led by the inimitable Steve Herbert.

And then there's us, the fans. It is always a privilege and pleasure to be part of the Barrow support, both home and away, even when the wind and rain are screaming up the pitch and even when we lose. But never more than this last season, when the football has been the best I've ever seen in 30 years of non-league football and where the atmosphere has often been electric. Those of us who were there will never forget the wins at Bromley (when many Barrow fans actually started to believe) and Notts County (when we gave them a footballing lesson AND went top of the table), and also the home win against Sutton United, when we were down to ten men and Josh Granite was making up the numbers even though he must have been in agony. It is for all the above reasons that we deserve to be champions and deserve to be promoted to the EFL. Well done to all of us.

Andy McKinnon, Chairman, Barrow AFC NSC.

No one has replied to me yet. Am I allowed a few beers or not?

The gaffer is a Barrow fan himself so I guess I've answered my own question.

I guess I can changed my signature as well.

I remember early in the season during our Sunday morning volunteer brew break Mark Hetherington saying 'we are going to be promoted this season". After an initial silence there was a "what, you think we will make the play offs"? "No as champions, the manager says so and so do I". Said with great conviction and belief.
Now considering the poor start to the season that was some statement.
Well Cometh the Hour, Cometh the Man.
You, Sirs, delivered.

Wonderful news. I can't begin to imagine how awful it must have been having to wait for 3 months for the decision, hope it feels all the sweeter for that.
Many Congratulations. 48 years waiting finally over.

Their minds conceived it - Their hearts believed it - Then they achieved it.

I'm just so happy for everyone, especially those who kept the faith all the way through. Barrow is a wonderful place that I've grown to love over the last 20 years or so. And we won with style. Huge thanks to everyone involved.

Absolutely amazing achievement, didn’t think I would ever see my home town in the football league. Long may the ride continue!!

Congratulations to all involved particularly the players, Ian Evatt and the board.
