Well said, Nige. Many of us fans are feeling really sore over what seems to be developing behind the scenes but you have to feel for the Board too as I believe they have given him impeccable treatment, and also the players, many of whom are young and would surely have wanted their boss to guide them through the transition into Football League.

I felt rather bitter about the departure, but think the board have acted exceptionally well over this. Really proud of how they have conducted themselves. I don’t think it is an understatement to say that this next 3 or 4 weeks are the biggest in the clubs history. And will define the future of the club. I think the board are ready for this challenge and to be a part of history.

Funny isn't it. We share emotion over a manager but dont feel its right to do so over a BoD.

I think if the BoD read the Ian Evatt thread they should get a true sense of the feeling towards them of fans. Its not just gratitude for what they have spent or the decisions they've made but really for being partners, stakeholders, and supporters themselves along the journey.

The manager tends to suck up a lot of the glory at times like this but I'm not sure that Ian Evatt could've done what he did with the previous ownership structure and BoD. We know the Cassons had more money to spend (at least initially) so its not primarily about funding. It is about doing the fundamentals properly, but also about applying the right level of leadership, knowing when to be seen or not seen, communicating effectively and selling the product, that is the club with every word published or broadcast. These are all the things we used to bitch about with the previous administration. Now we've got the point where we take them for granted.

So I'm with Nigel. They do deserve our thanks and I'm happy to trust them with creating the next chapter of our history. And can we please find some way of celebrating collectively because at the moment it feels like somebody just died.

Completely agree with you guys. The way this board of directors have run the club has been truly excellent. From the improvements to the ground, the improvements to the pitch, allowing the manager the freedom to make the club more professional in ways like overnight stays for long trips, statistical analysis of matches, better medical facilities and other areas such as the availability of items in club shop, online improvements, etc., etc., they have transformed the club. They have also spend considerable amounts of money without adding it to club debt and as far as I can see are people who have a real passion for the club unlike any manager or players who will come and go.

This BOD have been fantastic,they Have helped massively getting us promoted,they are doing so much fantastic stuff off the field,we as Barrow football club are making massive strides forward,then he decides to leave,personally feel he’s let the board down. I listened to an interview with Evatt 2 weeks ago on Cumbria and distinctly remember him saying “the club mean the world to him” well you got a funny fukin way of showing it,personally I hope he fails it might be sour grapes but that’s how I feel. The club with this BOD will push on and be stronger.
