I’ve interviewed Josh granite a few times, interviewed John Rooney a couple of times too.

Problem I have is I don’t drive and have a job outside of the Radio as well so can only really do interviews of a match day.
By the time I’ve done my post match stuff the players have all headed off home so hard to grab them

The year is 2020 and in the 2nd division there is only one ground without a scoreboard but of course given the local culture anything remotely "modern" or new fangled is viewed with suspicion and will cause relegation to the lower divisions for 48 years. Doomed, we're doomed I tell ye

It has recently dawned of me the shear scale of work needed to bring HS up to even a comparable standard for L2, the BoD up to now have been amazing and they are putting money where their mouth is and tackling the most pressing issues with the stadium. However as we will see, our beloved ground is so far behind the stadiums and facilities we will be visiting next season.
I fear that the piecemeal improvements proposed would represent only limited value for money as the ground is hemmed in on 3 sides and the only available land contains a council flat looking building over looking the pitch ( the wife’s analogy ) and a car park, I’m just struggling to see how it can be improved to a modern standard without moving to a different location. The one place in the town that screams redevelopment is the docks area near fainty’s yard.
Before everyone screams we can’t afford it, it has been done by Morecambe and other clubs of similar size by using the various pots of money available in the EFL and would certainly gain council support as it would kick start the docks redevelopment project.
For the long term future of the club to be successful we need to be making decisions such as this, or just simply spend a few seasons back in the EFL Just to drift back from whence we came.

Love Holker Street but there is a lot of sense in what EA has said above. The main issues for me are, how do we get 2000 seats in the next 3 years and that the only area available for full development is the end where a lot of income is generated. If that came down, where are the corporates and the cross bar (bar) going to go whilst a new stand and these incorporated facilities are built? If the answer is no where, then that's a lot of lost revenue over that period. Although I hate the idea of a soulless ground with no character this is a longer term concern. Just where and how do we develop Holker Street to meet the required and expected facilities going ahead?

There’s plenty of space on the west terrace for putting an extension of seats into that area (would likely require the floodlight being moved more into the corner.

You could also level the away end side of the main stand and do a similar thing on that side.

With the changing rooms and tunnel moving from the cross bar building to under the main stand that would also create space for a smaller stand in front of the cross bar building if they were to want a quick fix

Adam, I hadn't thought of that with the crossbar end. Just fill in the space where the tunnel currenly is to join up the few steps of terracing and bang some kind of canopy over it from below the windows and there u have it. Another covered terrace

The area around Faintys yard is riddled with asbestos from the old railway working and would cost a small fortune to clear

We're not going to get a new ground without sizable investment from the owners, the council and potentially other parties. In light of the recent Covid pandemic and Brexit looming on the horizon who is going to be throwing round hundreds of thousands of pounds in the local area?

That's true. Not enough space if a crush barrier was installed.

The ground is restricted to what you can do and there really is a lot to do to modernise it. The only solution, on that site would be to completely bulldoze the Crossbar and move everything down 3-5 m towards that end. that frees up room to move the pitch, and build a new stand there. But,,,,,,, weve just built a new fanzone down there, that is not going to happen.

We will have a three sided ground for L2, no fans down that end.
