seems to be a decent and clever bloke, I am sure he will do well. Very important role I hope the club can get another football CEO to maybe mentor him or something., if that doesn't sound disrespectful

Some take that

It’s our first season in the football league for almost 50 years, the role of CEO is an absolutely crucial one. People are entitled to question why the role wasn’t advertised

So what is the new CEO's background then - anyone? Perhaps the man himself could tell us a little bit about himself on here or the official site?

Its obvious why it was not advertised. The chairman and the board feel they already have a very capable person within the club in Levi to take on the role of CEO. This negates the time consuming process of advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and then appointing. All unnecessary by the sounds of things. All the best in your new role Levi

No - If you read the official site (i think it was there) he will be resigning his role with the Trust on the 24th July - so I guess we will have a new Trust rep on the board.

I must say I’m very surprised at some of the comments from people who are friends with Levi, attended away games with him, and will happily use that Friendship as leverage in the future. Sort it out.
Also it must be said Levi is barrow through and through. Had the club gone through the advertising process they may have attracted the next SV!
look on the [SwearFilter] bright side.

I’m sure you will all agree a relatively fresh faced board with very little experience of running a football club have done
more than remarkably well over the last season or so!

They have taken us to places few could ever have dreamt of on the field whilst continuing to develop things off it.

They have obviously seen enough of Levi in his role of representing the supporters through the Trust (and what a job the Trust has done by the way going from strength to strength with us the supporters backing) to see that he is more than suited to his new role within the club.

We all need to get behind each other on this trust they have the right man as they have got little wrong so far as I see it.

Certainly not a time for disengagement or personal differences, we pull together prove to the football league what a great club we are and enjoy more continued success for Barrow AFC.

I agree with all of this above, and that's why a biog, or introduction to any member of the controlling board, would be advisable...to prevent disengagement. On the surface, it could be seen as an assumption that 'everybody knows Levi'. I'm sure he is as great a lad as you and others have said, but I don't know him or who he is. A bit of further introduction on the website might have been polite and advisable.

I don't think we had a CEO before. If I remember correctly, Paul Hornby said a while ago that it was one of the many new requirements from the EFL, that the club must appoint a CEO.

Austin Straker and Andrew Casson were both CEO
After Andrew left with Paul the role was left vacant
