You can't put wide enough segregation in without losing seats in the main stand (taking us below the L2 requirement).

The many options have been explored numerous times by the club and this is the best solution.

I thought we may have a season’s grace, by which time we may have a bigger plan in place, to achieve the full membership by year three. Some sort of temp stand in the corner over at the away end in the interim.

-Qualification 500 seats with ability to reach 1000.
-Admission 1000 seats with ability to reach 2000.
-Membership 2000.

1.2 A new member club entering League Two must comply with the Qualification Criteria and has until the 30 April in its first Season as a Member to meet the Admission Criteria set out in the above table.

1.3 Where such Club remains a Member of The League that Club shall have until 1 May in the third Season from the date of its admission to comply with the requirement to achieve a capacity in accordance with the Membership Criteria.

So the arrangement which has been selected for putting seats in the Holker Street End makes us compliant for 2 years.

Re arranging the Main stand would only make us compliant for year one.

The main stand extension most likely won't be a project until year 3. So you'd have the same problem again next summer.

I presume then the club will turn its attention to extending the main stand. The bit i really don't like is that we are not allowed to have any fans behind the old steelworks end goal due to EFL regulations.

Crossbar won't be next. That building, as ugly as it is, houses the majority of the off field income streams and opportunities not to mention all the office space.

You would need to have replacements for all of those in place BEFORE you start knocking that down, otherwise what do you do during the redevelopment?

I can only imagine the next step would be to work on the stand extension which would provide a) the desperately needed increase in seating and b) more space to develop income generation which would then subsequently allow for the Popular Side and Crossbar to be improved over time as finances permit.

Perhaps when the development of the other stand starts the facilities currently housed at the steelworkers end could be incorporated there, yes it would be the most expensive part of the redevelopment but it would allow that building to be knocked down, it would only require a simple and cheap stand there as replacement at the pop side.
Big and extensive works ahead, exciting times.

I imagine we'll want to get some value for money out of the new fan zone before demolishing it. Unless we can somehow build around it.

Like I have said before whatever we would like to do to improve the ground it is critical we stay in the EFL. We must get it right on the pitch next season that has to be our priority.

It’s a huge job Charlie, upgrading electrical supplies, water, drainage, removing everything in there. I think the aim is for April.

About 20 years, since I first moved to Barrow, started off going to the odd game then over time got more into it, especially since the 2008 run to the play offs in the CN. I’m now 40, and also a Blackburn fan - where I was born and bred. Don’t start it’s better the plastic Manure or Dolepool armchair Sky Sports supporters lol
The [SwearFilter] taking wasn’t so bad in non league as most teams were tinpot anyway. It going to get much worse in the EFL and it’s going to cut!
