For those of us who don't have a Sky Sports contract, is there a way to watch? I have had a look on the internet and Now TV seems to offer a one day pass for 9.99. Has anyone used this method?

I have all the Sky Sports channels through Now TV, but a rolling monthly pass rather than a day one. I access it through a BT TV box, phone, laptop etc. and all fine as long as you've got a decent internet connection.

At my age, I am not a pub goer and I am not sure whether pubs in Darlington will bother with Barrow anyway but I do have BT Vision etc so should be able to sign up for the day and watch from my armchair with a beer from our local micro pub takeaway.

I’ve used that before, it’s a decent price and looking like being the same price as iFollow so worth it for me. Plus you get all the rest of the sport that day too

It's a first team game. Red cards count across all competitions so I'd say, no, he can't play against Derby.

Derby seem to be on Sky pretty regularly (obviously helps when we had Lampard as manager, Rooney as a player and have been play off contenders so frequently) and there are several away games I watched using the Sky one day pass and works a treat.

Interesting tie. I would imagine Derby will play mostly fringe first team players and a few youngsters (although half our normal first team is made up of young academy graduates).

Welcome back to the league and good luck for the rest of the season after this game of course. I’m dreading the upset (no offence intended, I’m not expecting an easy game) you guys, Sky and any neutrals will be hoping for.

Slight digression here but I was definitely at our last League Cup tie against Preston in 1971 and I think I remember a spectacular own goal by Ambrose Clarke at the Steelworks End...

Quigley will miss Derby
he will be able to play against Blackpool in the EFL Trophy in the mid week as that competition has it’s own individual suspension rules
He will then serve match number 2 against Stevenage
His 3rd match will either be the league cup 2nd round (if we beat derby) or will be the away league game at Newport

I was there, Ken, but don't remember the goals - - - - 2-0 to Preston off the top of my head. Definitely not saying you are wrong, just saying I can't remember the goals! I do however remember bumping into our manager Don McEvoy a day or two later up Hawcoat way and his words describing the match were that it had been a "dong-dong battle". I can remember being a bit surprised by him saying that because it sounded like he thought it had been a closely fought match but my recollection is one of disappointment because I felt we had been comfortably beaten and never really at the races. Ambrose Clarke! I think he had been on Everton's books. Have we had any other Ambrose play for us??? I think there was ability there but we saw it too infrequently. In fact, I would say that about the entire 1971-72 squad; we had enough ability to keep well clear of the bottom four (should have been mid-table) but we underperformed and underperformed and the rest is history . . . . . very famous history . . . . .
