Tough times ahead

Would be interesting to know what our numbers were for the two games we have played.

Think it brings home the need to get people back into grounds as soon as possible. Also a warning perhaps not to blow your money on streaming away games.

Colchester are an interesting case in point. Despite making the play-offs last season they were very badly affected financially by the lockdown and were forced to let go 3 or 4 of their best players simply because they could not afford to extend their contracts on current terms. They have back filled with youth team members and ironically this has led to a win and a draw so far. So it can be done though how long it can be sustained is perhaps a different question.

Unfortunately it seems that the experiment is going to be paused from 1st October, so more money for iFollow!

That's a rather negative way of looking at it. If we sell enough away games then we will still get some income from them. And I'm sure we would want the income from other teams' supporters for our home games.

Surely we will get more than we would if we could attend the game. I wouldn’t be travelling down to Colchester, or Newport etc but I will watch on ifollow!?

I’ll be streaming all league games home and away. I really think home teams should get a all of the revenue for their home games regardless of whether home or away fans are buying.

Seems very unfair that Bolton mad more money for an away game than the home team did.

No for a number of reason,some people simply don't like watching football through a laptop/tablet,some simply do other things like listening on radio,families will watch together so only one pass purchased,friends might watch together.
Going forward after the announcement this morning I doubt I'll watch many games as simply haven't the interest or excitement.

I agree with you Nips, I almost definitely won’t stream an away game this season because I want my money to go to my club. The current share of the money on Ifollow is bonkers

I'd be surprised if we get 500 streams for a home game once the novelty has worn off. There's tonnes of football on telly at the moment.
Probably better off sending the money to the club or buying a scarf tbh sadly.
