I don't think the result actually matters too much tonight. Some good minutes for key people, who all looked pretty good as well.

We are improving and I think that counts for something.

We are up against a step up in opposition here. I think we have played well overall and plenty of positives with players coming back. It also tells me our squad depth is decent to make wholesale changes and be competitive.

Against a good team from a division above, few changes and lads back from injuries. Not many chances created and a missed Penalty so could have been 1-1
We seem to do more with James on the field. Little bit too much passing backwards esp second half and very poor free kick in last second of the match but its game time for some of the players. Be very interesting to see our starting line up on Saturday

Think these comments are a bit harsh. Tonight we've seen 9 changes to the starting line up from last league game. Quigs and Nthle coming through their returns looking good. Reid making a good claim for a start. I think if you break down that game we had plenty of possession and matched them for large parts. They are a league above us and that showed in the finer detail where it matters. They closed us down very well in our own half but they didn't open us up time and again. Yes it would have been nice to progress and pick up the prize money but there were plenty of positives to take away.

Gribbin apart it was a good performance against a strong and good Division One side in Accrington Neither side troubled the keepers much but plenty of players got some much needed minutes tonight. When everyone is fit we have a strong squad that will give Dunn some selection headaches.

Oh well, that's ok then. Let us lose every cup game, lose some much needed revenue, just to save a so called fixture pile up. And finish in the bottom 6 or 7. I'm glad you are not our chairman !

They defended very well to be fair. They were very hard working and closed us down quickly all over the pitch
