Watched all the games so far this season, great to be back today. We have looked at our best playing the passing game, we looked like it was working after the two games against Mansfield and Bradford, cant remember us picking the ball up off the keeper today, it's all gone a bit route one. Plenty of chances to bury the game, it just didn't happen. We are missing a midfield ball player.

Last 3 games we've looked useless in front of goal! How many shots to how many on target ???? Quigley around 7 shots in 2 games - 2 on target !

Seems that way. There's gotta be a middle ground between passing sideways/backwards all day and just lumping it forward. But I think that's the problem, like you say. There isn't a midfield ball player. No one to drive play forwards and pick out a pass.
I asked for a change and got it. Defensively, it looked a lot better on the whole, but it still didn't seem to click going forward. At times, it looked like Quigley was trying to do it all on his own. The finishing is below par. 17 shots and only 4 on target? The midfield is an enigma. It's more like a second line of defenders because we just don't create anything in there. Thought Taylor and Beadling grafted but nothing inspiring. Biggins......non existent apart from wasting a free kick. Why is Taylor not taking it? Kay just looked frustrated. James ran all day but why was he in the right back position for the goal? Ntehle seems to break down everytime he plays.
I don't know the answer but it just can't continue like this. Another side who were poor that we just couldn't put away.

One bizarre thing today was the note passed from the touchline to one of our players--don't know who it was--who then kept reading it a few times whilst the game was going on. What was that all about? I thought at first it was a mobile phone. Not seen that happen before.

Josh Kay should be released after his disgusting actions today. A supporter was made to apologise after commenting something vile about David Dunn, the players should be equally accountable.

Bad form is this is true. What caused a reaction like that?

I imagine it was the boos at the end, only explanation I can think why he would do that, even then most of those were directed at the ref.

Probably something to do with- it wasn't a good idea to start the second half with Luke James at Right Back, get him back up alongside Quigley.

Well that was my first time watching us in the football league and in truth our performance was no different than all the non-league games I've seen. Infact it had the feel of an old F.A cup game with us as the non-league team against a football league team. A solid 442, content to defend deep and let them have the ball. Back to front balls, fighting for the seconds and hoping something drops our way. We even had the groans from the crowd when a ball was passed backwards. I think it surprised Salford because they were on a bad run themselves and they've not exactly Barcelona. It looked to me like we were set up for a draw and I would certainly have taken one at half-time. Second half it was clear they had made some changes and had come out to attack us with greater intent. After the goal we changed shape and looked a lot better as they switched to hold onto their lead. We had some chances and you couldn't fault the effort of any of the players. Our big players Quigley and Kay had off days and we came up short. Not sure where we go from here.
