Not too sure "nice football" works in this league !, it`s more of a physical battle with limited chances .russell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 12:40 am Hurst, Flitcroft and Alexander all have decent EFL records. I like the style of football Garrard of Boreham Wood plays but it would take a bigger job than ours for him to relocate to the North. Wilde of Halifax has a good record with limited resources and Tim Flowers did a good job at Solihull. Whoever we get will be a big gamble just as Evatt and Dunn were with vastle different results.

Re: New manager - Who do you want?
I don't think you can say nice football doesn't work in this league or that league or whatever. Yeah it is physical but so is every other league. The NL is a physical league and nice football got us out of it. It's making sure what ever sort of football works for the team and when you do get your limited chances, make the most of them, something which I don't think has happened so far for us this season in the majority of games.
Whoever we get in needs to keep us up. Simple as that. Nice football is great to watch but I'd take a few months of whatever to keep us in the league

David Healy, strong pedigree, 3 league titles in 5 years in the NI league with Linfield. The attraction of full time football & Managing in England could be a good USP.

“Big” Sam Allardyce - the connections are already established with Blackburn, sounds like he’s familiar with the squad, too, if he’s been in contact with Dunny. He has a fantastic pedigree of coming in mid-season and keeping teams up. Why not get him in for 6 months, eh, much like Ady Pennock?

Just need to chuck him a couple of million and it's a done deal.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 12:10 pmI’d go with that.Dwayne Beresford wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:39 am “Big” Sam Allardyce - the connections are already established with Blackburn, sounds like he’s familiar with the squad, too, if he’s been in contact with Dunny. Why was it he left the England job?Bluebird_john wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 12:16 pm Big Samhave the owners won the euro millions or something ?
Re: New manager - Who do you want?
He may find Arsenal more appealing...
(If Big Sam has been advising David Dunn and the latter has gone due to unsatisfactory results, what tortured logic suggests Big Sam might be the man to take over?)

Re: New manager - Who do you want?
I would be trying Paul Cook,ex Wigan, out of work so no compensation, north west based with a good record of bringing on younger players, his sides play good football and punch above their weight,so let’s not throw away the blueprint because of one bad choice of manager. Can we afford him ?I don’t know but the value of his stock would be higher getting Barrow out of trouble than sitting around waiting for a better opportunity, let’s at least aim high, look how Clough has transformed Mansfield.

Dino Maamria is the man with the record to get us out of this mess. Proven record of improving struggling sides by 50%
