The other main damage done by DD is the amount of money this is now going to cost the club/board to get a full new midfield, some pace, strength and composure at back and someone to score some bloody goals in January. If they do spend what its going to cost and we don't stay up then I fear for the longer term damage it will do.

Yep we basically need a full new spine of the team which is a worry. There’s plenty of players starting tonight who should be squad players at best in this league; it’s a real shame we didn’t go more down the route of Jamie Jones and bring some younger hungry players out of non league up with us

But the main problem is that neither Taylor can last near 90 minutes - and when they play together they tire even quicker - and without Jones and Hardcastle there are very few options.
With Brown available Saturday i'd have him and Brough as wing backs. Kay, J Taylor and Gribben. with Quigley and Angus up front.
playing 3 at the back is why we are in this mess WAKE UP!

Rob Kelly keeping that midfield together for an entire 90 minutes is verging on gross misconduct. Especially as we were so clearly being dominated in midfield for the whole of the second half.

Still, almost got a point.

Changed at half time as it so often does. Everything we did well in the first half stopped. They stopped working hard for possession, sat back on the half way line and allowed Scunhorpe to grow into the game.
The substitutions didn't make sense?? Can anyone explain the swapping out the front two. It brought nothing.

It was there for either side to step it up and win it and that is exactly how it turned out. Cant say defeat wasn't deserved tonight.

New man will need to be good to turn this around. And i agree. Needs to be in post ASAP

I keep banging on, but I wouldn't have anyone at wing back. That system should have been binned weeks ago. It's just not working with the players we have this season.
Back 4 from now on. 5 man midfield. Quigley up top, supported by the wide players. Or you could call it 4-3-3 with the wide players dropping back to help midfield. Same thing.
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you :scarf:

So that just says that last season's team was at the limit of their abilities - Dixon, maybe Platt and arguably Quigley aside, none of last season's players have been able to make the step up.
No, it means that we failed to build on our success by recruiting players who would improve the team .

The gap to mid-table now is worrying and with Southend and Bradford picking up points we can’t afford not to win a couple by New Year. I don’t actually know how we can fix these issues as it’s recruitment at the root cause. Will take a manager who can hugely motivate and tap into a loan market better than the Dunn-ut we had before.
Sorry but that's a crazy idea - we need to get this right not rush an appointment in a few days

Didn't see the game and not surprised at conceding late but this thread makes sad reading.

Tonight felt like deja vu, I remember similar happening after we sacked Moore, two late defeats followed including Chester. Hopefully the end result of that season proves true for this one.
