Quite an exciting appointment - young, progressive manager with good football qualifications.
Let’s get right behind him and the team... and see where it takes us.

Am really, really pleased-with this appointment and over the moon at the news that Rob Kelly is staying.
Well done to the board.
Onwards and upwards.

All I asked for the BOD to look for in a manager was a top shagger with a bit of passion. He loves swearing so that's another box ticked. I bet he loves Galahad and gambling too.
Fully support this appointment, will get us picking up results and seemingly playing the nice passing football we have become used to in recent times. I'm sure that M-Jol has learned lessons as he's plodded along through life and will be a long term appointment.

Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Can the trust start a penny shares scheme with michael jolly at the helmHitthebar22 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 12:33 am As is often the case Pedro hasn’t got it again. Completely failed to see the point and misinterpreted the reality. Also critical of our new manager having a Cambridge education and having been a stock market trader. What’s the problem?

Re: Jolley confirmed as Barrow manager
A very very impressive interview. It’s on the club website and 11minutes long. We all know talk can be cheap, but he comes across as articulate, intelligent and ambitious. Not fair to compare really, but much more impressive than Dunn with his repetition and head scratching. Time will tell but at the minute it seems like a very decent Christmas present for the club. I know none of us liked how we were shafted unceremoniously by Evatt, but not possible to ignore his talent and what he did for the club - Jolley looks to be in the same mould.
Re: Jolley confirmed as Barrow manager
Agreed cracking interview, Dunn was a genuine bloke but Jolley's interview was a world apart from what what said when Dunn first came in. Hopefully results on the pitch will be the same.
Popular side since '03.

Great interview. Intelligence and passion shining through and steely determination. I think he will do well. Let’s hope so .

What a great appointment,he’s already showed more ambition and passion in one interview than a certain previous manager. It’s obvious he has ambition and I have a good feeling about this.We don’t want to be looked as “little old Barrow” and our aim isn’t to “finish above the bottom two” ,with Jolley in charge we have an ambitious, educated and experienced manager that will take us forward.
Get behind him and let’s get the passion and pride back that was taken away at the start of the season.Well done to the board and we’ll done Rob Kelly for staying on and stabilising things.
Onwards and upwards with our new leader,it will take a bit of time but I’m willing to bet he already has targets lined up and will bring a total new air of professionalism back to the team.

Re: Jolley confirmed as Barrow manager
Watching that interview basically this just feels much more like the appointment we should have made at the start of the season
Re: Jolley confirmed as Barrow manager
I'm not disappointed, but neither am I delighted. What are people seeing to think this is such a fantastic appointment? Also, what are people seeing in that interview that is so impressive?
I don't get it. He's got what, a year/18 months as manager of Grimsby on his record and not much else apart from coaching in academies etc. He's given a run of the mill off the shelf interview for when a new man comes into a club. I'm not against the appointment, I just don't understand why some are lauding it in the way they are. If I'm missing something, please tell me because I really don't understand.
Of course, I'll be delighted if he turns out to be fantastic and I'm certainly happier with it than I was when Dunn was appointed but it's very much wait and see as far as I can tell.
