Mark Hetherington
Sadly decided to step down from his role with the club
https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2021/jan ... arrow-afc/
Deserves nothing but thanks in my eyes for playing a part in picking the club up on the back of the Casson’s departure and making the “impossible dream” come true of being back in the league

Re: Mark Hetherington
Sad to read that Mark is stepping down.
As a volunteer I would like to say how much he was valued in the great support he gave, always turning up on Sunday mornings, coincidentally just at brew times.
Always appreciative of the work being carried out and willing to listen to any advice and opinions to promote the betterment of the club and always interested in the health and well being of the fans.
He will he greatly missed and can only wish him well and hopefully the break will help him return to full health.
Thanks for everything Mark and you know the kettle will always be on if you wish to join us when we return to some sort of normalcy.

So the club are looking for a new director/10% stake, what is 10% of the club worth?

Re: Mark Hetherington
Hopefully he comes on here to see the messages of thanks etc and see how much he has been appreciated.
We literally wouldn’t be where we are now without the likes of himself alongside the other current board members; the club and the town owe him and everyone else a huge thank you; such a shame the board could not have been sat there at our first home league game in such a long time with a packed Holker Street showing their appreciation

known Mark for years always likes a laugh and has worked hard to get where he is now obviously his health is paramount but I worry how his leaving will effect the club moving forward Paul Hornby needs all the support he can get during these awful times! Thanks for everything you've done Mark

Re: Mark Hetherington
Mark has been absolutely fantastic for the club, the work, time & effort he put in during the summer of 2018 alone was unbelievable. From painting pitch side walls, to helping us organise the corporate rooms, to planning jobs, to assembling the players tunnel (to shouting at us...loudly) he was always available & always involved and wasn’t afraid to muck in, more of a volunteer than owner/investor.
Mark has also been more than a regular visitor on Sunday mornings to sit, chat and enjoy a brew with everyone....as Elaine says, his timing was legendary, basically as soon as the kettle boiled.
On quite a few occasions he’d ring and ask how many were there, then fifteen minutes later he’d turn up with coffees and bacon buns.
Thanks Mark, you played more than your part in making history and creating some special memories for BAFC and it’s supporters.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Mark Hetherington
What a shame. He's done so much for the club, and not just financially. He's a football man through and through and he also did a lot at Holker Old Boys.
Becoming a Life Patron is a fitting honour.
Mark is such a positive guy, and I hope things work out for him.

Best of luck Mark in everything you do going forward I genuinely enjoyed our chats on a Sunday morning in a relaxed atmosphere and you will go down as the only man I have ever stripped naked for in a skip

Did Spirit take a picture? Asking for a friend.
Well played Mark - you helped create a bit of history at the club.
Good luck for the future.

Maybe Ian can post it but bet he doesn't....
Seriously, Mark leaving will leave a huge hole in the running of the club.
Mark was the football brain behind it all and will be missed.
All the best for the future Mark...Hope everything works out for you.
If you get your fitness sorted me and Chris have a list for you on a Sunday morning
