The away turnstiles getting power and lights fitted. Basically everything has been done from scratch, the roof, re-painting the actual turnstiles themselves, the exterior wall, the doors and more importantly for the turnstile operators, making them wind & rain proof. We plan to move to the other turnstiles in the coming months and do a similar upgrade to them. Surprisingly it’s really not a quick job though.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

The HSE/garage corner turnstile had the power reconnected and lights fit. We’ll look at re-furbishing it’s neighbour along with adding lights and power in the NY. All the turnstiles will eventually have some work done to them, hopefully the turnstile operators will see & feel the benefit of the work done on them.
The new signage for the fanzone gates. Once again, and after 9/10 years Lee and his lads at Graphix Signs are still helping us out, these four signs were produced free of charge for us. Another fantastic gesture by them.

Some of the main stand seats have been reported as being damaged so these had a touch of TLC applied today. Unfortunately (before anyone points it out
) we have no spare white backs so they’ve been replaced with blue. We’ll have to look into getting some spares otherwise we’re losing the BARROW AFC lettering.
We also still have the massively time consuming job of putting the COVID spacing stickers on the chairs. Probably two thirds of the way through this but it’ll look much better than the red & white tape that’s there now.
The other two pictures are of the new lighting that helps speed up the growth of the grass in areas where it’s needed. Gareth was there this morning and he has his work cut out sorting the waterlogged patches out.
Some other signage was also put up, and the one that has annoyed Jonty for so long - put straight. The only sign put up by the “professionals” was the only sign in the whole ground not level
Thanks as usual to Elaine for summoning us with her whistle at 10:00am for our brews - where we normally dissect the previous days result....capman and Whitty stole the show with their views

Thanks for the pics, top work as usual. I guess no one was tempted to do a Ronaldo and jump under those UV lights with some Peroni, for a taste of winter “Cumbrian sun”, saying that the body outline it would leave on the grass might look a bit dodgy.

Why do you have to try and be clever when someone is simply trying to be helpful and answering your question?
Have you taken the time to read up on what was required? Of course you haven’t, it’s a massive project. Just skimming over the surface - changing rooms of a certain size which need to include toilets, separate baths, showers, male and female officials changing facilities which have to include washbasin, toilets, showers. It also has to include a match day medical room and whatever equipment that requires...then there’s all the items such as tactic boards, fridges, ice baths etc etc etc. Plus you need to remember there is absolutely nothing in the way of services under there, everything has to either be upgraded or installed new. While we’re at it, let’s throw in the cost of design and planning permission,
So Whitty was right when he said you haven’t a clue.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
