I’m afraid the club have been sold a story by MJ during the interview process and they’ve swallowed it hook line and sinker. Having no one at the club with a proper football background to give advice when interviewing definitely hasn’t helped.

I’ve been saying the same on this forum for a while. The man is a charlatan who is great at interviews and undoubtedly does his homework on what he knows his interviewers want to hear. The fact nobody had offered him a role in football since he was sacked at Grimsby should have been enough to ring alarm bells

I know it’s all old water under the bridge but if we just had last years manager and squad we would have been comfortable in this league.
Who ever goes up a division and weakens both their playing staff and management??

We can’t afford to sack Jolley nor should we as we need to maintain some credibility as a club. He was our last throw of the dice and it hasn’t worked unfortunately.

Can we furlough him for the rest of the season? If what I read previously in this thread is true we can get rid for nothing in the summer. Put his assistant in till the season end.

From the internet... Michael Jolley was sacked by Grimsby Town after he had a shocking private rant with a radio station which saw him swear 58 times, it's been revealed. Jolley aimed his anger at two local radio journalists at Radio Humberside where he ending up saying the f-word a total of 58 times in the space of four minutes.

I said earlier this week if we lost this one I'd start to worry and, wow, am I worried after that?! That first half was as bad as I've seen in a long time. Clumsy fouls on the edge of the area, pathetic clearances straight to opposition feet and not a semblance of an attack on their goal. There was one point when there were 3 players within a couple of yards of each other with the ball at their feet and no one knew who should deal with it. Needless to say it ended up with the opposition.
After their first goal changes to formation were constant but at least early on in the second half we began to show some sort of idea. But the shambolic events that led to the second goal brought an end to any thoughts of a recovery. "Scored a goal? OK, we'll just pop up the other end and stick one in, if it's OK with you..." "Yes, of course, after you...". Pathetic, absolutely pathetic.
I really believed we'd start to see what the manager was trying to achieve but I'm left with no idea. And if he really has just said in his interview that some players' attitude wasn't right that is a very worrying sign so early in his tenure. I don't like this at all.

Weasel words. We need some action. Neither the manager nor the players have any affiliation with the town. They just come here - take their money - and go home, laughing all over their faces.
