Port Vale FC (h)
Re: Port Vale FC (h)
This is probably our last game against someone with nothing to play for. There are indications that Vale may play some of their fringe players but those players may well be playing for a contract next season and complacency will be our biggest enemy.Of course they could be nice to us and gift us the three points in homage to one of their former (and apparently popular) loanees Lewis Hardcastle.A draw would be a small step closer but a comfortable winwould make me a lot happier. 2-0 with both goals for another Vale old boy Quigs.

Port vale are coming into this game on the back of 6 wins and a draw - don’t be thinking they’ll have the beach towels and deck chairs out.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:42 pm This is probably our last game against someone with nothing to play for.

Yes remember the last game we needed to win against Chester at home and they were in administration so could only put a youth team out against us.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:42 pm This is probably our last game against someone with nothing to play for.
Thankfully Woking got beat at home by Dover who had nothing to play for,but put them down instead of us.
Also in our league days Shrewsbury came to Barrow needing a win for promotion, we had nothing to play for but beat them

Not even sure where he’s got the indication that they are going to play a weakened team fromPedro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 2:01 pmYes remember the last game we needed to win against Chester at home and they were in administration so could only put a youth team out against us.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:42 pm This is probably our last game against someone with nothing to play for.

They played a full strength side v Carlisle at the weekend. No way are they taking the foot off the gas

Re: Port Vale FC (h)
Vale were going to a record run of wins at the weekend so played a strong team so they could get the win. Now they have nothing to play for the indication is they will give fringe players a run out.Adam29 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 2:33 pmNot even sure where he’s got the indication that they are going to play a weakened team fromPedro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 2:01 pm

I'm going for a 2-0 win to us with ex-Vale players Quigs and Andrew scoring.

Well I’ve just watched their pre match press conference and there is no indication at all that a fringe team will be put out - they are targeting remaining unbeaten for the rest of the season to give them a stage to build on for next season

Fair enough, that makes sense. I need to stop listening to their supporters for team news. Hopefully we can scupper that plan tomorrow, even if they do play a strong team...

I notice our official Twitter has said we won't be joining the new European super league but I think this is a ploy. I am really worried that we have agreed to join too. Its going to be a tense few days at Holker St for sure.

Sorry to hear that, hope you are ok and back soon. Won’t be same without your enthusiasm and screaming when we win and guarantee league football for next seasonAdam29 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 10:55 amNosaltcellar wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 9:55 am Are you not commentating tonight Adam?
