if that did happen it wouldn't be down to one result, we are where we are because of 2 monumental bad decisions and with those decisions that's the reason if we do end up going down we can't "sugar coat " this !

Me too Andy. I thought it likely that all three teams could lose today and so we would be safe. I was out this afternoon and came home to the worst possible set of results. I think we all know the likely scenario if we have to depend on winning next Saturday against Southend. We were outfought and mugged by Grimsby - if we had won that we wouldn't be worrying now. The biggest concern for me is that we are not scoring. We certainly are not going to win unless we do something about that.

What is embarrassing is all the folks that come on here saying we are safe saying southend haven't scored a goal and look at their fixtures.
Truth of the matter is we are not safe. Its in our hands but we are not playing well and haven't for a while now.
Seen the great escape a few times now....hopefully not this time....

this season is so disappointing!

He was brought in to make an impact from the bench, probably both parties knew and agreed to this. He's come on and in at least 2 games made a big impact (scoring and assisting). What else do you expect from him?

If someone had said after Morecambe that we'd been clear of the relegation spots, needing one win (max) with 3 games left you'd have said they were nuts. We were gone after that game. The same suicidal lot on here tonight were saying we wouldn't win another match all season. No reason we can't win at FGR and then smash Southend.

The point is we don't look like scoring one goal let alone winning a game. After the last 3 games people's concerns and in the main negative comments are completely justified

Can't understand Kelly's logic with the players, saying that some of them need a rest. FFS they are professional athletes getting paid good wages.

Thay have to play twice a week - oh poor things - it is so tiring.

No probs with negative comments. It's the "end of the world"/"we'll never win another game"/"It's all over"/"No chance of beating Southend" type stuff which is OTT - in my view.

Got to agree RW
Whilst my bum is a little more squeaky than it was at 3pm we are still in pole position. The whole cataclysmic response on here is waaay OTT. That said, I do get the feeling there are more than a couple of wind up merchants on here having a field day these days by stirring up the negativity.
Keep the faith. 3 games to go (2 for Sarfend) 5/6 clear.

Off our heads are we Southend only need to win 2 games and grimsby 3 games then we are down and it only takes one of those teams to win their last few games and thats it down we go ! So how can we not start worrying.

Exactly and if Southend beat us and it is up to them beating Newport at home or us getting a point at Exeter, I know which team I will fancy and it won't be us! We MUST get a point against Southend and we have more chance of doing that by trying to beat them instead of putting out teams to play for a 0-0 draw which we've been doing for a good few weeks. Luke James has been doing nothing for weeks and Quigley looked a much better player with Andrew playing alonside him. Devitt must play with Banks in midfield plus one other as long as it's not Chris Taylor. Hopefully Tom Davies will play as he proved to be our best defender.

We are inconsistent,but we have the players we have.
Rob Kelly David Dunn or Jolly who would you want in charge.
The results will spur Grimsby and Southend on but it's still in our hands if we go down only ourselves to blame.
Barry for me had a stinker,Platt is taking time to settle back in.
I watched today saying I would listen on Radio but that's what I am going to do and hope we get a draw in Tuesday.

I didn't expect us to get anything at Tranmere today, but nor did I expect both Southend and Grimsby to win. Only one of them has to catch us to send us down. Surely, even as badly as we are playing, it isn't too much to expect to get just one point from three games.

I still can't see Grimsby winning at both Exeter on Tuesday who are still fighting for a playoff place and at a week on Saturday Cambridge who could be fighting for the League title although I expect they will be safe in an automatic promotion place by them. Even their home match against Port Vale next Saturday is a tough one with Port Vale's current form. If they draw even one of those matches, all we need is a draw against Southend and they can't catch us. If they lose even one, they can't catch us whatever we do. My worry is Southend because I expect us to lose at Forest Green and to be perfectly honest although I've watch all the bottom teams I haven't yet seen a team any worse than we are at the moment. I certainly haven't seen any team in the league with a midfield as poor and now our defenders are starting to make mistakes. Like Steelman, I expected us to lose today but I certainly didn't expect Southend and Grimsby to win.
