I will leave it to others to decide what to do, but I must admit that the false message really annoyed me as I then spent half an hour trying to see if it was genuine, looking through the club website and other sites. I think faking a club message shouldn’t be taken lightly, although it may that Perth Bluebird didn’t create it.

I would be happy with Ardley - he spoke well after we took them apart in November 2019.

It got me too. But I’m not taking it personally.

Check it's not just Perth trolling the BBC.

About 2/3rds of clubs have changed managers in the last 15 months - most of them sacked someone and replaced them with someone else who had previously been sacked by another club. Most of the ones sacked them got another job with a different club who sacked someone - and round and round it goes.

Now I suspect if we analysed the win/loss ratio of most of the managers on that list or checked what the supporters of some of their former clubs thought there would be something that people would find to moan about and say they were not suitable to be the next Barrow manager.

As has been mentioned I think the expectations of some on here are very high - the next 2/3 years for me is about becoming a solid/stable mid table League 2 side and allowing the board to build off the pitch as much as a manager can on the pitch. After nearly 50 years I would have thought league 2 stability would be seen as a major achievement by fans but it seems some think that is unambitious and we should instead be playing like Barcelona and getting promoted quickly - I wonder at what stage they believe we should win the champions league ?
Whilst I totally get what you mean, I think it’s playing with fire to build a team with the ambition of finishing mid table, players play to win and to win every game. The start of season should be all about building a team to go for promotion and going into our season with a “mid table will do lads” - we're only Barrow and we been in non league for 50 years is just asking for a quicker than hoped return to the NL.

F*ck the little Barrow mentality and strike out and we should be going for it on this next coming season - within financial constraints of course.
Regarding the stadium it will catch up regardless of what EFL league we are in.
I think you have misunderstood my use of expectation and ambitions.

You can have an ambition to do anything - but you also have expectations of what is likely to happen

At the start of 2020/21 I had an ambition that the club may settle in nicely to L2 and achieve a mid table position whilst growing off the pitch as well

However from experience I expected us to struggle this season on the pitch and find the jump to L2 off the pitch to be difficult -

My ambitions were not met but my expectations were

Next season my ambitions for the club remain the same - but my expectations have now changed and actually they are the same as my ambitions.

If the club meet them next season then my ambitions may change to wanting to be in the play offs - but I would think my expectations wouldn't change

Nothing wrong with being realistic but also hopeful - I don't find that a negative position but some do.

Anybody who actually comes on here first for information really need to get a grip it's in the title "unofficial " go to the club's twitter account or the club's official website if you don't then please don't come on here complaining, it really is that simple!

I agree

I saw the post on FB last night and someone else mentioned Ardley and Cox on here (Not Perth) - did I instantly believe the news and quote it everywhere - no i didn't - I did what anyone should do with any information in any walk of life - I went and looked for any supporting evidence via official channels (ie the club website or official social media outlets) - when I saw there was none i knew that the FB post was in fact fake.

too many people post 'facts' on here which are either false, misleading or just opinions - if the forum were to ban all of these posters it would be a lonely place.

As for people not liking what some posters post - I have said numerous times 'just ignore them' it will make you life much easier - use the FOE button to not even see what they post

Il Metronomo wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 2:13 pm Neal Ardley did well at Wimbledon getting them promoted to League One on a small budget and took Notts County who were a bit of a mess to a playoff final. He has management experience (unlike Dunn) and seems likeable (unlike Jolley). A good choice in my opinion.
I agree. Any manager is gamble but Ardley looks better than most of the other options.

That this forum is unofficial and that a few have mentioned that Ardley has been appointed Manager is irrelevant and not the point.

The issue here is that PB posted a purported 'Official Barrow AFC' tweet confirming his position.

I believed it. But it was a lie and I was deceived, along with many others.

Differing opinions are fine, false information is a given, but posting a purported 'Official Barrow AFC' tweet, which is fake and false is deceitful and fraudulent.

Should I really have to scour the internet trying to check if what I am reading here, is true or false?

Barrow AFC Board should object (& rightfully so) to their 'Official Social Media' being used by unauthorized users to distribute lies and falsehoods, which is not only confusing, it's illegal.

And this forum should make clear that it does not condone such behaviour and it should be added and included it in your protocol rules.

Otherwise, where does it end?

This forum will contain more fiction than fact and become a laughing stock.

Without wishing to prolong this - I personally think that is a massive over reaction.

It’s up to barrow AFC board to decide what they do about a parody unofficial FB account

My view is the more you complain about these things or try to ban anything you don’t like the worse this becomes

As for scouring the internet to check what is posted on an unofficial fans forum with most people using fake names - I’d say that yes that would be sensible and it’s what many I suspect do already to avoid the very problems you feel you have encountered .

Using the words fraud /deceit / illegal etc etc doesn’t help and is OTT

Maybe you should volunteer to be a moderator on the forum and then you can police it as you see fit and also deal with the fact that so many things seem to offend people and be reported which most actually just realise is not that relevant in the scheme of things
