Potential signings

Not sure of our financial situation but while our recent signings are decent can we afford to buy a really stand out player? Even someone from a league below maybe, obviously I don't know if we can afford transfere fees.

So Morecambe like us last season (and not for the first time), find themselves in a higher league significantly depleted. What would you call that phenomenon? Asset-stripped? Success bombed? Blobbied?

Some would say 'a metaphor for professional football'.

Don't know who I'd recommend will leave that with our manager and scouts they know far more than I do.

That was the point of getting a manager with good experience so we don’t make the same mistakes as last year re recruitment,his first signings have demonstrated that there is a strategy and they make more sense than last year’s signings so I’m sure he is working hard to get the right players in so keep the faith and I’m sure there will be some good signings round the corner

As I see it we will have brought players in this season who have been highlighted by our chief scout early in the process perhaps endorsed to a certain degree by the board, but the final seal of approval will have come from Mark Cooper. Nothing wrong with that at all, but because some of the players Mark Cooper has inherited I will reserve judgement until he has has brought in a full squad of his own making. Really think he needs to be given the boards and supporters fullest backing overs a sustained 18 months at least!

Business as usual. Players moving to the club willing and able to pay them the most money!

There's a few who have stood out in the playoffs but I'd be amazed if we could afford any of them. Rodrigues of Notts County, Rooney (who we had) and Croasdale (who, apparently, we almost had) of Stockport, Oates and Featherstone of Hartlepool just to name a few.

Watched the game and I'd have to disagree that Rooney stood out. Stockport were terrible.

But they didn’t did they!! Quickly addressed their mistake at board level and we thankfully moved on! Just think this time it may take a little patience from everyone.
Forget about Rooney he has been and gone, had one of his most productive times in a football shirt but ultimately chose his next move and the rest is history!

We have been told we had a higher budget than our league positions suggests, so why should we not be able to afford to sign players from a league below us.. why this obsession with Rooney he didn't want to stay he left why all of sudden would he want to return.
