Club to go to cashless payments

We seem to have taken a step back in recent weeks on a lot of things and no one benefits from it. The fans don't get to use facilities such as the fan zone at an ideal opportunity and decide to go cashless in a world where we have nowhere near reached that scenario. As a result, watching the football becomes awkward for fans and the club loses money. You can analyse it whatever way you want, but that's the end result.

I also.think this is a bad idea.A lot of older people simply do not have a bank card and survive on very small pensions.The highlight of their week is going to watch their team play at Holker St and they probably put the money aside each week forthe match.
This looks like it has been thought up by a younger person who has no idea how some older people survive.
I would like to appeal to the club to not forget it's older supporters a lot of whom have supported this club through thick and thin since they were last in the Football League.

You don’t have to use the FairFX thing, plenty of alternatives out there.

Stevenage are all electronic for tickets etc but not food/drink.

This shows naivety form our CEO. This is why we should have taken on a business man in the role and not a fan who is a graduate. I say again this is BAD business however you look at it. You do not turn down any form of income, full stop.

Agree 100% Unfortunately the club has a "young" generation working daily behind the scenes and life for them is cashless cards ordering things on apps etc etc. The club badly needs a couple of older more experienced heads working behind the scenes as the younger generations ideas will quickly lose the older generation of fans who have supported the club all their lives.

When we look to be moving forward we then make absolutely stupid decisions, yes the world is moving to a cashless society but we are far from it just yet, I think this could of waited a few seasons or atleast we could of been given some notice
Young kids who only go to 4/5 games are never going to be putting 50 pounds on a card given by the club or app.
Stop changing things that don't need to be changed.
Who is it that sits in these meetings and think this will be a good idea and all the supporters will agree?

Regardless of whether we can use cash or not, if we have to go to the office to buy a ticket then it is a very bad idea. Means you need to turn up that much earlier. Or have I misunderstood - will it be possible to pay cashless at the gate?

With cashless payments, there is always a risk of system failure - this could mean that no-one can get a ticket on the day of the game. I believe such an incident occurred at Chesterfield a couple of years ago.

The tickets from the ticket office started in the national league winning season that isn’t a new thing and to be honest you don’t find many clubs now that allow you to pay on the gate the vast majority certainly at football league level make you buy a ticket from a ticket office

I do think the club are going a bit too ALL-IN with the cashless thing though
I know it is the direction that society is leading but until I’m told that I can no longer carry cash around I will do so - i don’t think you should be able to dictate that you can’t pay cash.

I feel extremely sorry for Chris as well who it seems has been thrown under a bus with not being consulted and having his email address used to be bombarded with angry emails

I have no problem with having to have a ticket before entering the turnstile, it is the fact people can't buy that ticket with cash. There is absolutly no need to be bringing this in. We are not a top premier league club. Our fanbase has a large section of older and younger people who still only use cash. As sombody said a lot of older ones get a small pension which they take out in cash so they can budget, Its the same with the unemployed.

This is just a bad decision all round. You do not turn down a form on income. This will effect attendances and takings. I really believe that. I am really angry about this. I rarely post on this forum, I leave it to others but I feel I should and everyone against this should make our feelings known to the club.
