Stil can't pay cash at the ticket office. The tally is going to be packed.

He is out and about trying to pull in sponsorship, I know as he visited me yesterday.GazzaT wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 8:56 am This isn't a criticism of those individuals in certain roles as the club appointments are ultimately made by those at the top and people can only work with what they are given. However the top and bottom of this and other issues like the disaster of the fan zone during the Euros, issues with online stuff, current problems not being to get names and numbers on shirts at the time you actually go to get one is because we continue to try and run a 'professional EFL club' with a skeleton team of amateurs or 'keen fans' as a cheap option, in positions that we need experience and actual 'professionals' who can actually pull us forward to help us start to catch up with the likes of Morecambe, Fleetwood, Salford etc.. all clubs who don't forget, historically have always been below us in the pyramid. Where the hell is this Commercial manager we employed?? Old adage, you get what you pay for. Or more to the point, what you don't pay for!!

So you're happy to queue twice, once to get your ticket and then again to get into the ground?whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 8:14 am
Cashless at the turnstiles I agree with. Think we were already doing ticket only anyway.

It was implemented in 2019/20 when we won the national league

Most people I know bought online and had their email confirmation scanned on entrance (cashless)
If you make a last minute decision to go, buy online or pay at the ticket office
There's going to be a ticket office inside the fanzone isent there?

Why should the ques at be massive just before kick off because some folk want to pay at the turnstile?
The people operating the turnstiles are scrambling to get as many people through so they don't miss the game and getting a load of grief while they do it.
I've done them on multiple occasions in the past and it's not fun for anyone on a busy night!

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Whilst the proposal was discussed and agreed by all Board members, and shared in advance with the Supporters Trust, we acknowledge that we also should have involved a broader spectrum of supporters to get their input.Stephen Leonard wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:10 amBefore making that accusation I think that it must be remembered that the trust director would not always be able to tell the rest of the trust members of every decision that is being made - his job is to raise issues and concerns and put a point of view across at the club board meetings - when a decision is made by that board then it gets put into action and Eve try one has to get behind it (collective responsibility similar to the Govt cabinet) . The trust director does not have the right or power to just starry discussing everyone talked about at club board meetings with other people
I think it possibly highlights the difference between what the trust members think his role is and what it actually is
Also if discussion were taking place last night between club and trust then it would be for the club to state that not the trust as it was the club who made the decisions
I don’t think criticising the trust as a block is fair in this situation
Steve I get where you're coming from, I was only reacting to the above paragraph, how can I read into it any other way ?

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Shared with the trust doesn’t mean they had any involvement in the actual decision and I don’t recall anyone from the trust saying anything last night except they didn’t like the decision - again you have a situation where the supporters trust is an organisation with a board who may be told things that they can’t comment on as individuals depending on the situationblue nige wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 12:22 pmWhilst the proposal was discussed and agreed by all Board members, and shared in advance with the Supporters Trust, we acknowledge that we also should have involved a broader spectrum of supporters to get their input.Stephen Leonard wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:10 am

Overall no one is coming out of this with any credit really as it it has been handled badly by the club
Ironically it’s probably also made it much harder to implement some of the changes which are perfectly logical and inevitable as they have alienated many people by the route they took on this issue
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
This implies to me that they knew and that they had said it wasn’t a good idea but that the club continued anyway - don’t think the trust have done anything wrong in that respectBluebirds Trust wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 12:55 pm We are actively talking to the other owners about their decision of this and understand the position of the fans. We have reiterated our feelings on this with the evidence of the reception it has had from the fan base. We strongly disagree with the scope and speed of the change.
The earlier post was made for people who may wish to sign up for a Fairfx card and that there is a way that it can be beneficial for the Trust at the same time. A misguided attempt to make a small positive from this for which we apologise.

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Although I can see why the proposed changes have now been shelved ...I still think it is the way to go for the future .... it is certainly more hygienic ... probably quicker ... and more secure in terms of avoiding 'financial slippage' anywhere between the customer and the club. I, for one , would have been happy to go down the originally proposed route . Most transactions I do, follow this route be it in supermarkets , online purchases, travel costs , holidays or whatever .... it is likely to become 'the norm' for all over the next few years .

First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )
Re: Club to go to cashless payments
We are probably at least 80/20 there now anyway, contactless / cash and would say Generation Z will be at least 95/5 contactless/cash. So yes we as consumers we are moving that way.
As with all things its getting used to the idea and when people see it working and that it is easy to do it will be the preferred choice for most over cash anyway. ....
The issue was in taking away the choice and not phasing it in. Same with ordering a pint / food with Barrow Eats - easy for many, but a new concept for others. Yes it will have benefits, but there should always be that choice to just walk up and order and pay, even if that is burdensome for the club.

Kids are at school during ‘business hours’.
As I understand it’s no longer convenient for potential customers/future supporters of the club to walk in off the street on match days and watch a Barrow game?

Lets hope the club is set up to revert back should there be a breakdown of equipment on the day of the match
