They are 100% selling tickets on a match day in the fanzone. They've been putting the hut in to sell from in recent weeks.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 8:05 pmNot according to the club statement!
In addition, we will also take cash at the Club Shop and Ticket Office during normal business hours on Monday to Friday, so that match tickets can be purchased for cash in advance.
The Fan Zone and Cross Bar will continue with the plan to go cashless, as well as the Club Shop on matchdays.
Where does the statement say that tickets can be bought in the fanzone - yes - it takes cash but does it sell tickets.
Unless I'm reading this wrong according to the club statement there is no way of buying a ticket after normal business hours on Friday.

Care and compassion for what? Folk who can’t pay online for a ticket and print it out or have it uploaded onto their phones? No. If you don’t know how to do it, ask for assistance - a family member or a friend. We’ve been to a number of away games where it’s been ticket only prior to the game, to my knowledge everyone seemed to manage with that?blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 7:28 pm"Luddites" if you're going to try to be smart at least spell the word rightA.B. wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 6:33 pm Crikey, there are an awful amount of ludites on this forum.
No issues with card payments for tickets - it’s the common theme around most Football League clubs these days, something folk need to remember.
If you don’t like bringing your card with you, pay in advance and have the ticket printed out or on your phone. It’s not difficult.
None of us are against change it's just the transition period
if you don't care about others then why come on a forum ( which embraces everyone), some of us actually consider other less fortunate supporters , I've got money, season ticket etc, but there's a lot of others less fortunate, a bit of
compassion wouldn't go amiss !
Not sure what you’re rambling on about to do with money and less fortunate folk, my post was to do with the card payments only. Nothing to do with how wealthy you are.
Gentle reminder that sentences begin with a capital letter and end in a full stop x

It's not what the statement says.
Geuine question - How do you get into the fanzone?

Tickets
Match tickets can still be purchased on the day, but this must be done from either the Club Shop or the Ticket Office positioned in the outdoor Fan Zone area. Cash will not be accepted, and no tickets will be available to purchase on turnstiles.
Access to the Fanzone from outside the ground is via the car park down the side of the popular side stand.

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Thanks for clearing that up, but at the moment the club has made two statements, one of which contradicts the other. It needs sorting out. I thought we had a media/publicity manager who is paid to make clear statements.McMark wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 8:17 pm https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2021/jul ... 22-season/

I'm wholeheartedly behind the board and what they have done, but they need to come out with clear unambiguous statements, so that thickies like me can understand what is happening.

The 2nd statement is the one you go off
They’ve made a u-turn on the 1st statement so forget that one. 2nd one is very clear what they are doing

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Thanks for that Adam.
Perhaps you could use your media expertise to teach them how to issue just one statement, and if there are two kicking around delete the one which is incorrect.
I think they're might be a job for you at the club Adam!

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Well if it wasn’t for the outcry to the original statement they wouldn’t have had to issue the 2nd one (rightly so mind, I’m glad they’ve rectified things)
I’m happy enough with the one I’ve got

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Most of the information is still very relevant in the first statement, the only change is they will now take cash in the refreshment kiosks around the ground on match days and during the week in the club shop and ticket office.

Walk in off the street into Fanzone, buy ticket, scan at turnstile.BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:26 pm As I understand it’s no longer convenient for potential customers/future supporters of the club to walk in off the street on match days and watch a Barrow game?
Not a deterrent.

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Presumably this semi reversal of decisions will be given to press as tonight’s evening mail has third of page article titled “Anger as football club scraps cash payments”.We need to get the compromise deal details clearly stated for those who don’t read forum or club website to re attract those who may have been put off by it.

Think they have changed it on the online, but the 2nd statement will have been too late to beat the print deadlineliverpoolann wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:12 pm Presumably this semi reversal of decisions will be given to press as tonight’s evening mail has third of page article titled “Anger as football club scraps cash payments”.We need to get the compromise deal details clearly stated for those who don’t read forum or club website to re attract those who may have been put off by it.

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
I am happy the club has reconsidered the original decision however, I do not understand why they will take cash in the club shop and the ticket office from Monday to Friday and not on a Saturday (this is my understanding). My biggest concern was always for the older fans with cash and also kids who turn up with pocket money (because they are simply unaware of this) being turned away. Either the club take cash or they dont, there should be no half way house.
This has been a bad week to be a Barrow fan. What with losing our best player, disrespectfully cancelling a friendly and this ill conceived, non consulted debacle regarding cashless. Questions need to be asked. Who is in charge here?

Sounds like an absolute ball ache mate, definitely a deterrent for kids, especially if folk give their kids cash to go to the soccer.Hadrian wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:54 pmWalk in off the street into Fanzone, buy ticket, scan at turnstile.BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:26 pm As I understand it’s no longer convenient for potential customers/future supporters of the club to walk in off the street on match days and watch a Barrow game?

Just needs proper planning before implementing that’s all.
