We Need 1 Cash Gate

Bit off a cry to the owners was talking to an older fella that I have known for a long time regular attender , he said to me which I believe today as others on here have commented about saying how older familiar faces have nt turned back up at Holker Street. That the situation off not being able to pay cash on the gate has really put them off coming and having to go to the ground days before and buy a ticket pre match days before has also put them off. As well as this new ticket purchasing in the fanzone. Again not all the older generation but some genuinely don’t like paying by card and are scared off it. They only feel comfortable paying cash tender and before folk say but they pay by card in the shops. Many still do not and only pay in cash , personally we need to have 1 turn style that you can pay in cash. Not just for the older generation but what about the floating fan that is with his mates in the pub and decides half an hour from kick off he or she fancies it , absolute no brainer to me.

Think most agree that cash ticket sales should still be an option but not pay cash on the turnstiles.

I agree or even a shop in the town centre which sales tickets on behalf of the club for a small commission or several outlets

Some poor attendances in league 2 today I wonder if people are not yet comfortable getting back to normal

I think another issue is as well sadly the big boy plastic clubs are now back open again. Taking a few off gates for the lower league clubs. But I really do believe our lower attendance today stems from not being able to pay cash even if it only adds another 200 on. The older generation just like it simple no tech , no money flying through the air as they call it , they like seeing money physical in the hand

Tickets NOT available on turnstiles, therefore no cash turnstiles

If you have something to sell you make it easier to buy it not harder.
I am just wondering if there is a issue of trust with cash and that's why we have gone this route.

A cash option to buy a ticket should still be an option. You also have to remember that stand tickets are allocated to a specific seat and name now. You cant do that using cash at the turnstiles unless each turnstile had a computer and that would just hold everything up.
Most of this is a change of routine and those who want to leave it until match day thats up to them to plan it to include getting a ticket. Its never been quicker getting in to the ground

That is highly highly alarming if true , I would have thought the cash issue would have been to do with the time it takes to be counted , recorded and deposited.

So you recognise the issues about paying with cash and there in is your answer as to why the club have gone ticket only on the turnstiles. Your argument about using cash is valid to buy ticket in advance, but for the reason you have recognised yourself the club has decided to make it ticket entry only. Stop missing the point

Banks deal with cash everyday nothing goes missing due to protective measures put in place. Missing the point employ some trustworthy staff put a cctv camera in theres ways.

Think there are only a very small number of full time staff at the club all match day people are volunteers. They are advertising for a replacement staff member , so until that happens , it looks like the club is running with even less.

I don't see the issue with ticket only turnstiles, most clubs do it. The problem is ability to buy a ticket from fan zone or ticket office on match day with cash. I saw instances today when fans are buying tickets on behalf of others and been given the cash

I tend to agree with the sympathies expressed in this post towards some older supporters who are afraid of new technology and prefer to pay by cash .
I don,t think that as a club we should simply abandon them A lot of them probably live on their own and have probably supported Barrow AFC for most of their lives.Saturday afternoons at Holker St will have been the highlight of their week and it is now being denied them.
We as a club should be able to have at least one turnstile taking cash.Without it we are going to lose about 200 supporters at every game,something the club cannot afford to. do.A lot of these people grew up in an era when cash was king and it is all they know,so do not abandon them.

You will never ever be paying at a turnstile in cash or credit card . The method of entry to the ground appears to be via electronic ticket to allow number of fans to be calculated. No more counting stubs etc.
The problem is, is how that electronic ticket for scanning is bought. Currently on a match day it is card payment only. Perhaps message the board of directors, as they did a slight u turn before. I wonder if the club could see how many fans only arrive with cash and either loose them as a customer, or some kind hearted fan buys it for them in exchange for cash?
