Maybe not a turnstile but there must be a solution. We are a football league club, hopefully we have the staff needed soon. Have to say wasn't impressed with the quality of ticket, barely states the fixture and date. We've had better in non league days. Must be because we print on site.mr_grey wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 4:00 amCash turnstiles is not a reality because all tickets are produced when bought in an electronic format from a computer and scanned to allow access to ground , (counted for ground capacity needs.). We said yeah but cash only. Bloke said he didnt have any but my dad offered his card if he gave him cash. Waited a couple of minutes and he said he'd had enough and walked out the ground. Not great and I think a cash option should be doable. People who dont use cards and live out of town wont be able to come in early to buy from club. You do wonder how many people have done that.
Hope something can get sorted soon as. A work in progress but not much of a compromise so far. A cash only turnstile where there is a trusted employee must be possible ?
Cash sale , as imposed to card sale at a ticket booth is however possible , it's down to the board to say yes. . As mentioned somewhere else there are only a very small number of full time employees at the club, , looking after all off field activities, everyone else that can be seen on a matchday are volunteers. Someone said yesterday that even those selling villa tickets didnt work for the club

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
When will some get it into their heads?
There are people who have supported our football club for over 50 years and they only deal in cash. They have helped to keep this club alive through the darker days, and now it seems the club doesn't give a toss about them.
For some of these people 'watching the soccer' is one of the few pleasures in their life, which gets them out of the house talking to other people, but our club is saying 'thanks but no thanks we don't want your cash'.
If the club wants to see how it works ask Carlisle United - and I never thought I'd be ever saying that!
I know it's a busy time for the club just now with the Villa game, but please, Mr. Hornby and co., change your mind or explain why you won't.
Thanks

our SLO or contact the club via an email or via twitter, I'm sure they'll give you an explanation, but to be fair they have mentioned at the meeting just gone (which anyone could have attended).

Unless the people who run our club are deaf blind and or stupid they should be well aware of the disquiet this issue is causing . They appear to be unwilling or incapable of resolving the issue but be sure of one thing- as long as it is unresolved complaints will escalate.

Instead of going to the cash machine or bank to withdraw cash first, just go to the ground and use the card to pay for a ticket. No one deals only in cash (criminal activity aside), state pension is paid into a bank account. All state benefits are paid into a bank account as are almost all wages.

Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
There is a generation who still only deal in cash. They will take a weekly trip to the post office to withdraw an amount from their pension to get them through the week. It’s that generation that kept the club afloat in he dark days and some of those same people are being disenfranchised by this stubborn stance from the club.PRR wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 3:13 pm Instead of going to the cash machine or bank to withdraw cash first, just go to the ground and use the card to pay for a ticket. Re: We Need 1 Cash Gate
The thing with becoming a football league club is we need to change the way the club has worked for the past 50 years.
I'm pretty sure the BOD haven't turned around and said "let's forget about all these people who want to pay cash" This is the future. The club needs to evolve. That is what happens when the clock keeps ticking and we have success on the pitch. Get your tickets in advance. Its really that simple. If you know anyone who struggles. Get their ticket for them and take their cash. Problem solved.

All post office card accounts are closing shortly. Maybe this will help with the transition.
*Edit I'm not saying that's right or wrong.
