I know people shouldn't leave it, but I would pile it all up in the directors seating area. They might employ someone to look after the ground a bit more.

Yeah dump the rubbish in the area where the people have pumped 6 figure sums of their own money getting us into league 2, what a sh*t lazy comment to make, just like the lazy people who cba finding a bin.boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 2:52 pm I know people shouldn't leave it, but I would pile it all up in the directors seating area. Well hopefully not as not everyone has a couldn't care less attitude.
Can I ask if you are one who drops your rubbish or just not bothered if other people do? It interests me as I can't understand the mindset of anyone who thinks it is ok for someone else to pick up what they leave. Obviously someone has to do it or it would end up as a rat infested rubbish tip.
I don’t drop litter and it winds me up when I see others do it. Last nights game we were crap for the 1st 30 mins then the 2nd half probably play the best 45 at home for quite a while . A.N Other is not thinking where’s the bin as they finish their bottle of coke etc. Don’t take it personally but I can understand why folk forget to bin their rubbish.

Well the guy with the toddler in arms and a small one by his side didn't forget his rubbish. A great example to his kids.
I get your points though and see where you are coming from. I do actually like litter picking but they tie me to the kitchen and Peter the professional litter picker likes to be King of his domain.
We are all getting on in years though and I wonder where the next people are coming from because we will always need volunteers and it is ridiculous to say pile it up in the directors box. Money they invest in the club has to be used for projects to improve the ground and the playing staff, not cleaning up after other people. They don't have an inexhaustible supply of money.
Perhaps when these young ones are a bit older and maybe ready to take our place they will step forward.

Anyone who volunteers is doing a brilliant job. It has been mentioned on this thread about having a part time handy person (it is 2021) probably the way forward. Keep up the good work

We had a part time handy man. Didn't work out I don't think.
When the shot blasters (not players) had finished working on the stand rust they were supposed to wash the seats down to get rid of all the muck on them. Cleared off and left them. We had a home game next day.
The handy man worked his two hours doing his usual jobs and it was left to me and Austin Straker to clean them. Almost 1000 seats in one go was back breaking but fans could not have sat on those seats as they were. I missed that game as I could hardly move.
Paid employees do the hours they are paid for but volunteers are needed to do the extras.

When are we getting that flag pole erected? I miss seeing a flag flying signaling "We have a game today".
Plus the next home game board on the Wilkie Rd/Holker St corner is missing as well. Replaced by the Dunes Hotel advert. Advertise our games.
That litter post has put me in a moaning mood now Whitty.

Living near the ground the flag was probably the main indicator for us kids to go and watch the game - going back to the late 70s early 80s though.

Surely that written into their contract so I’d have withheld a grand or so & bill them for the cleaning.Holkerbird wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:24 pm We had a part time handy man. Didn't work out I don't think.

You can't bill them for a non existent cleaning bill.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:15 pmSurely that written into their contract so I’d have withheld a grand or so & bill them for the cleaning.Holkerbird wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:24 pm We had a part time handy man. Even if they had it still wouidn't have got the seats clean in time for the game. Covered in dirty black bits of metal and dust.
Been a funny old day. Cos we volunteered today I arrived home and cooked the Sunday roast. Oh hang on it's only Saturday.

Used to be litterpicker for lower league team in south.Smaller crowd but same litter problem in our stands.I asked if we could have more bins in stand and that was reason why not that was given to me.Holkerbird wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 2:49 pm You have to walk past a bin wherever you are going in the ground. I bet if they dropped money they wouldn't forget to pick it up. Never heard of restricted bin numbers before. When did that rule come in? None of ours would obstruct exiting the ground.
Perhaps it would be interesting to trial not picking up litter and see if anyone noticed at the next game.

Just a thought that may help the litter pickers, particularly after seeing the shocking stand photos, can we not give a steward a bin bag at half time as surely its within their remit to keep walkways clear in case of emergencys
