Not sure what to make of that- We were good value going in 1 up at HT and playing some good stuff, but as we see so often the game totally flipped second half. No complaints with result. Wind was very strong and some of these players need to get used to it, cannot play two half the same when its like that.

A decent attendance of 1,281 (including 74 Fleetwood fans) on a cold, windy night saw Barrow boss the first half playing good possession football and deservedly leading 1-0 at half-time, a scoreline which actually flattered the visitors.

We soon rued not having taken more first half chances as, whether due to a half-time rocket or the elements being in their favour, Fleetwood were level within three minutes of the restart and in the lead within ten. After a five minute halt in play due a floodlight failure, it took only three minutes more for the visitors to extend that lead. High pressing by Fleetwood and weak defending against the wind cost us in the end.

Virtually all the first half chances fell to Barrow. 14 minutes in, a good run by Kay found Arthur who cross was met by Williams, his header being punched away. Four minutes later, a break down the left gave Gotts a strike a sharp shot on goal which was saved.

In the 20th minute, good control and a shot by Zanzala forced a save for a corner. Gotts’ corner then brought an Arthur header which was saved just below the bar.

Two minutes later, a rare foray saw a shot played across the goal by Fleetwood which was put out for a corner. However, a Barrow break away following the corner resulted in a Kay shot which was saved by Crellin.

In the 26th minute a Fleetwood free kick from 20 yards was well blocked by the Barrow wall and, two minutes later, we finally got our reward when Williams threaded a great ball through to Zanzala who drilled past the keeper for 1-0.

Fleetwood managed to contain us in the final 15 minutes of the half but still struggled to create chances. In the 42nd minute, Barrow earned a corner and shortly after, White was pulled down near the right corner. Grayson’s free kick found the side netting.

In the second half, Fleetwood changed tactics and, playing with the wind, put high pressure on Barrow’s defence. We rather played in their hands by not releasing the ball out of defence quickly enough and they soon sensed they could capitalise. Three minutes in, they quickly gained possession and the ball was centred to Matete whose good strike gave Lillis little chance.

Another three minutes in, there was another warning for the Bluebirds as Thompson just wide of the right post.

In the 55th minute, after a cross bounced in front of him, Edmondson lobbed over Lillis for 2-1.

The floodlights then failed for five minutes but this proved a brief respite as three minutes from resumption, an Edmondson run down the right found McMillian who made it 3-1 in the 67th minute.

Fleetwood saw the game out confidently. From the Barrow side, Williams was fouled in the 72nd minute but Crellin saved his free kick. Gordon came on for Williams four minutes later and then Fleetwood made a double change. Fleetwood substitute Hayes made a good goalward run in the 85th minute but his work was snuffed out at the last gasp.

After a promising first half from Barrow, good second half tactics, high pressing and clinical finishing gave Fleetwood the victory.

With such a weak bench, there were to many players just going through the motions, not committing themselves wholeheartedly.
They knew there was nobody to replace them.
Bit worried for Saturdays Leyton Orient match as to who replaces Ollie Banks.
Tom White is not match fit and was off the pace tonight.

All I want to know is what happened tonight.We went from a position of dominance to total subjugation in the second half.We definitely need to improve our defence ,otherwise we will be anya lated on Saturday.I know some people say this is only a minor competition but I disagree,every match counts.Please up your game this Saturday.

Don't know about the defense but we definitely need a foreword who can put the ball in the back of the net ! We're creating enough chances to score 2 or 3 goals in every game, our midfield are scoring which is great but where's the striker in the box to put all these chances away?

Just watched Mark Cooper's interview and thought he gave a very honest assessment about the state of our team.Since almost the beginning of the season he has never had a full squad to.pick from,with all the long term injuries,resulting in the result we got last night.
In view of this I think it is remarkable that he has managed to move our team up to 7th in league 2 with all the disruption he has had to contend with.
Going forward as hopefully we get these injured players back we should start to be hard to beat.If though these players aren,t showing any visible signs of improvement I think he will have to look at bringing in players to plug the gaps.From what he also said some of these injured players are nowhere near fit enough for him to use at the moment even if they were passed medically fit,so we as supporters will have to be patient and trust him to move the club forward which I think he will.
