Well possibly, if we reinstated the missing steps back to pitch-side but you probably need three steps of terrace steps space to make one row of seats. Rather they reinstated these as terracing and make the pop side back to what it was before the speedway.

A long time ago on this forum I suggested the possibility of turning the pitch 90 degrees and building a stand in front of the crossbar with the existing stand becoming an end. Obviously this would mean demolishing the popular side. I've no idea whether the pitch would 'fit' that way especially when you add another end terrace, without encroaching on the pond behind but I wonder if it might be a cheaper and better solution or at least worth considering?

The cheaper solution is to turn the pitch 180 degrees and then the crossbar is still a problem but maybe there'd be money left over to do it

Put the seats in as obscured view -if it’s the cheapest option get it done.

Doesn't seem to make much sense to me and pretty sure they need a lot more than the 250 seats mentioned

A solution that was suggested to me was that they take 2 or 3 metres off the pitch which would give enough room to put down a pad big enough to accommodate a six-row prefabricated stand from the same company that did the HS end roof and who did the new stand at Accrington obviously access to the pitch would still be needed so maybe it could be modified in the same way the one at Torquay was.

Wonder if they've spoken to Barnet as they are planning to replace the cover they still have at one end of their ground which by coincidence is where Torquay got theirs from as it's actually the twin brother of the one that's about to become available from the Hive.

It’s an obvious solution but how good would a view from a seat at the xbar end be? Would be pretty low down wouldn’t it.

Never thought of the main stand as an issue but guess thinking long term if it was removed we could put a longer shallower stand in with facilities underneath/behind.

Hate to say it but the main stand at Fylde is decent and has top notch boozer and facilities built in! Not sure how many seats it has mind may be a little low on numbers for us who made the EFL deadline they set themselves!

And do you know what its reputed to have cost ?

They are currently completing the fourth side of the ground with a structure that this time appears to be being built at a pretty reasonable cost.

I too am impressed by Fylde’s main stand but l think it is a bit of a chocolate fire guard as it would provide little if any protection on a nasty night. All show and no substance which continues to be their ethos l guess.

I know let’s just stick half arsed efforts all over the ground cos we can’t raise money like EVERY other club seem to be able to. Why are we virtually the ONLY club who have just stick seats in weird places to make do!! Surely grants are available now we’re EFL, sponsorship must be more attractive etc etc.

Could always ask Holker Okd Boys for their stand and stick it somewhere eh……

“Other clubs” Which other clubs, Salford, Fylde, Harrogate? These sort of clubs have very wealthy backers where we have local businessmen that have already pumped probably a lot more money into the club than they originally thought would be needed.
I’m sure if there’s a way to build something that we’d all be happy with they’d be all over it. In the meantime I’d rather stick a few unsightly areas of seating in the ground and keep our heads above water financially.

Wasn’t for a minute insinuating we should risk financial meltdown merely stating clubs I recall us playing in our non league days seem to find a way such as Cheltenham, Crawley, Accrington. I’ve no idea if these clubs have sugar daddies but there stands look the job. Granted they are much more established EFL clubs I know.

I think we have probably exhausted our stadium funding grants with work done previously on floodlights and other works in Casson era
