First round hasn't been regionalised for many years. You may remember we played Leyton Orient about 20 years ago in the first round.Jim wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 2:38 pm Is the northern section of the draw any club north of Watford?
EDIT: Sorry, I am confused. Club web site said the draw was regionalised, but just looked at the draw and there are several north south clashes - eg Hartlepool v Southend. I guess it wasn't regional after all?

Re: FA Cup
Either I mis-read the club's site or they have quickly changed it, cos it says "not regionalised".xerxes wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 2:56 pmFirst round hasn't been regionalised for many years. Just looking for Banbury's ground on t'internet. Doesn't help that the map on the club's website seems quite different from that on Google Maps. It's only a half-mile walk from the station but it does appear to be in the middle of nowhere hidden behind some industrial units, when you put the little man down to get street view on Google maps.

Unbeaten in 15 games in all competitions this season.Whatever the level this breeds confidence and they will be well up for it. If we aren't it will be another FCUM or Shaw Lane.

I think there's a few ahead of us...HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 1:35 pm Looking at the rest of the draw if 4 games are televised (?) id be very surprised if ours isn’t one of them. Looks the obvious plucky low ranked non league side at home to a league team tie that TV companies love
Sudbury v Colchester
Corinthian Casuals/St Albans City v Forest Green Rovers
Boston United /Stratford Town v Shrewsbury Town
King's Lynn Town v Walsall
Bolton Wanderers v Stockport County
Dagenham & Redbridge v Salford City
I think are probably all more appealing, in terms of one of: gap between the teams, profile of the teams, and/or chance of an upset

Re: FA Cup
The Alfreton one in our league days was a struggl e.
Lot better side now just need few back playing
Re: FA Cup
Remember the Alfreton clash well in the days of play till a winner. After two draws the second replay inexplicably was played at the 'neutral' ground of Chesterfield (neutral ? 10 miles from Alfreton). Another draw ensued before we finally saw them off at an almost empty Deepdale.

Re: FA Cup
Is there a deadline by when the dates/times of the first round proper fixtures must be confirmed? Assume they have to wait for the results of the replays going on tonight?
