From a Carlisle point of view!
Not the worst game this season, but certainly not the best either, I thought a draw was about right.
Zanzala should have scored earlier on and we should have put that effort from McDonald (where it hit the underside of the bar) away.
Interesting that a poster up above thought that somebody was offside leading to that incident, (not sure myself) but the said poster 'forgot' to mention we had an absolute stone wall penalty waved away in the first half, honours even eh??.
As far as the 'away end' is concerned, I do have to agree that it seems to cause all sorts of problems when there is a large away following, and why they simply don't sell season tickets to people in the block just across the netting, in the home end, therefore giving away fans a bit more space is a mystery to me, (it isn't as if all the home seats over there ever sell out).
However I have no doubt that when the 650 of us make the return journey 'down sarf' then there will be a lot of complaing from our fans about being herded into a corner with no doubt Barrow fans on either side giving it big.
Honours even then, the story will continue.

To be fair, all Zanzala had yesterday was long balls up to him yet he still nearly managed to score. I thought he was a real handfull for them in the first half.

Just for the record, from the west stand it was clear that there were plenty of available seats in the away section, the problem lay with the Barrow fans, who couldn't quite work out that it was allocated seating, as your own club pointed out. You need to get into the real world and understand that if all available tickets are sold then it's obvious you sit on the seat corresponding to your ticket, otherwise problems arise. You need to get to grips with the fact you are now a football league side and act with some responsibility. As for the poster who thinks it's the worst ground he's been to this season, I'm guessing you don't travel far, especially down the road to Holker St, a sixth tier ground at best.

Multiple stewards (the four I spoke to anyway) insisted it was 'sit where you like'. When the messages are polar opposites then trouble is invited.

Apart from the fact that when I asked the steward where my seat was he said ‘sit where you like mate’. So I did. As did everyone else, clearly.

To be fair no club really wants a ground that looks like either with Brunton Park or Holker Street these days. BP as an edifice is very much a mid twentieth century construction and as such neither meets the needs of the club in the 21st century and probably costs far more to keep running than HS.

However whilst BAFC supporters have a very strong attachment to a ground that has ensured the survival of the club for the best part of 50 years in the footballing wilderness none of us would not swop it for something designed on 21st century lines. So slagging off any League club on the basis of their ground doesn’t strike me as being particularly smart.

Nowt in this league?
So no clubs with more resources, no clubs with more experience, no clubs with better facilities, no clubs with access to more finances.
And you’ve said others are talking nonsense🙄
We are as near the play offs as the relegation zone. All this negativity. - some people need to take a reality check

If it was all about bank balances and plastic seats we'd be stuck in non league forever, while the likes of Wrexham Notts County and Stockport would still be warming their feet at the efl fire. If you go and play with fear of getting beat you get what we got yesterday, there isn't a team in this league we should be worried about not one!

I don't mind the Little old bara mentality but just happy to make up the numbers, no thanks! Morecambe gained promotion with a budget much lower than ours but I suppose they like us in our promotion season we're just glad to be there! :?
I agree. If Ian Evatt had that attitude we'd still be in the National League (or, probably, National League North!). He's the only manager we've had who hasn't trotted out the "little Barrow no resources" line. Instead he said the club had to have his ambition which was to be at the top! I haven't enjoyed a Barrow match since he left and, to be honest, most of the football has been absolutely dire whoever has been in charge. When he was here, it was a pleasure watching Barrow whether we won (as we did most of the time), drew or lost because he insisted on playing football the way it should be played and EXPECTED his team to win.

Carlisle stewards clearly telling supporters to sit where they like, and 13 police appeared quite happy to condone the blocking of safety escapes and standing on steps. Pretty much a shambles really.

I honestly couldn't give care less what the Carlisle stewards said, I've visited the vast majority of grounds in this country over the space of fifty odd years of watching CUFC and have learned to take what stewards say with a pinch of salt. The facts are, Carlisle United FC forwarded tickets to Barrow FC with the stipulation that it was allocated seating, as they do whenever a club brings a large following. Never before has there been a problem. Barrow FC clearly stated on there website for the benefit of you, the supporters, "We would like to remind supporters that tickets for Saturday's game have allocated seats and you should sit in the seat which corresponds to your ticket." Which part of this information didn't you understand? As I said in my previous post, you need to get a grip, you're a football league team now, act like one.

Who has more authority in the ground? Our website or your stewards? They all said it was none allocated seating. Are we to ignore the stewards if they ask someone to leave as well? Sounds like someone just trying defend a shoddy handling of the situation. Not one of those stewards were remotely interested in resolving the situation. Why not direct people to the empty seats that you're certain there were so many of? Why keep telling people to sit anywhere instead of directing them further along? Couldn't see many empty seats from where we were (and yes, me and my young son were seated and not part of the scrum). Perhaps some helpful steward could've pointed them out. Why did they also have to remove netting off seats if they hadn't oversold?

We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you :scarf:

Complete change of topic from my last post, but are Carlisle programmes available online or to be ordered? Didn't see anywhere to get one after being herded, I mean escorted, by CHiPs into the ground.

Cheer up, old son. We understand your disappointment at not beating the top side in the Cumbria Council area.

Why not have a Carr's Custard Cream with a glass of your Libby's Condensed Milk? Things will soon be back in perspective.

Give their shop a ring.

If any are left, I am sure they will try to help.

You're right of course pal, I was disappointed, that's the price of being a football fan. Seriously though, you need to lose your small town mentality, it's doing you no favours and quite frankly, it's embarrassing.
