Re:-Bombadel's comment about people not buying programmes, merchandise etc.
I for one am a member if the Bluebird's trust ,a season ticket holder, pay into the trust raffle and buy match passes to watch online.I,ve also bought things from the club shop, purchase drinks in the ground and used to buy a match programme.
The only problem I find now is when I now turn up at the ground 20minutes before kick off I can,t find anyone selling them at the popular side entrance. Are they still being printed or only available online?
It would also help if we were allowed to watch away games as this would be more revenue for the club. Not everyone can afford to go to every away game, but they can afford a match pass.Surely this rule about not being allowed to watch games on a Saturday needs changing as it would help a lot of poorer clubs out with extra revenue.

Some of our recruitment this season has been poor again. Paul Hornby said in a recent interview that they knew Scott Quigley would be leaving and they acted quickly to bring Zanzalla in. Why? there is nothing in this players CV to suggest he would be a 10 goal a season stricker never mind a 20 goal one.
This clubs almost obsesive addiction to having Paul Ogden as cheif scout baffles me and it has now spanned both the Casson regime and this one. I can only think of one really good player he brought in and that was Jorden Williams. Odgen is also the guy who brought in Bardley Bauress remember.
luckily with Mark Cooper we have a man who knowa what kind of players he needs to make the team succsessful but please no more signings that are not handpicked by him. And send Paul Odgen back to retirement Please.

I think we all get that but if we go down those revenues WILL NEVER BE REPLACED but because of the board's/ Cooper's pre season recruitment that's the reality facing us ,and all that investment put into the club will have been squandered, let's be honest we'll Never get back the season we went up was a perfect storm, we would probably lose half of our support (which we'd have to built up again and the thousands of pounds lost from the premiership, league Cup Fa cup revenues, ) Catastrophe doesn't even cover it !

If it is hard getting players to play for the Club from away remind me how many players are local this season, I must have missed them playing, the fact is players play that's there job, if we go down how many could really give a toss, there just move away and we start all over again, many jobs will be lost and the academy which will effect many young lads we really have to stay in the ELF.

Correct, here is a guy who's now into his 70s, who prior to joining us was in charge of leek and in the last 3 years or so has bought no one in I can recall who was any good, is he getting paid by us? And why?

Hes listed on our website as chief scout, never heard Cooper mention him.

The crux of the problem is that we do not have directors with huge financial resources and I'm afraid there is no answer to that. It costs enormous amounts of money to keep even an EFL 2 club going. Cooper has also mentioned the difficulty of attracting players to sign for Barrow. The fact is that to get players wanted by almost any other club we will have to pay higher wages than they could get elsewhere.

We lost Rooney and Quigley quite simply because they were our 2 best players and we couldn't compete on salary with Stockport. Any other reason given is rubbish. It was obvious to me and should have been obvious to anybody else that without these 2 players we would be much weaker. They weren't rated as the best player in the National League and the top goalscorer in the National League for nothing!

Whatever has benn stated, I don't believe for a second that our budget is top 10 but it will certainly be higher than any other club would pay for the level of player we have signed. I would, however, believe that there is not any other club in EFL 2 with directors who have a lower net wealth and that is not a criticism as I suspect they have spent a very large amount of their financial resources on the club.

There is only one way for a club like ours to compete and that is by having somebody with good judgement on the ability of players lower down the pyramid in addition to good use of the loan system.
We will never attract many good EFL players but generally EFL players we get will either be those nearing the end of their careers or those not wanted by any other clubs.

How much experience did Tyler Smith have when he signed on loan? He didn’t do too bad did he
Im not disputing that. I just think players like Zanzala / Gordon and the team would benefit from having a strong physical no nonsense number 9 alongside them. Someone who wont be intimidated by strong physical centre half's and is vocal and encouraging on the pitch when things don’t go our way. Im not saying this cant come from a young untried forward on loan but the likelihood is someone with a few battle scars under the belt would fit that bill better. It may even give Zanzala / Gordon more room to play their best game. Im old school- I like big no nonsense number 9’s who can leap above the rest and put their head in where it hurts. That seems to be the tried and tested formula. I think putting the goal hopes on a young forward on loan is a massive ask and may even have the wrong impact on the strikers we already have. Just my opinion.

Well said Russell. We can’t compete with Stockport as far as wages go and that’s why Rooney and Quigley left and that’s that.

Played better today and didn’t deserved to lose. People writing the season, manager, players off need to grow up.

I dont think we are too far away from being an alright team, it wasnt long ago we were briefly sat 4th in the league playing pretty entertaining football. The hoofball weve witnessed recently didnt suit the team at all, it may have done with a big ball playing centre forward, but unfortunately they are not hanging on coat hooks with Barrow keyed into their sat navs.

Just gone away to 6th in the league and although didn’t play brilliantly deserved at least a draw. Yes it’s clear we need a striker or 2 but until January that can’t happen.

Newly promoted Sutton, and if we had deserved a point we would have got one. We never, we lost. Again.

We can’t buy a goal at the minute. Strikers go through barren patches at a far greater level than ours. The goals have dried up from midfield at the minute and those valuable goals somewhat masked our deficiencies for a while. But saying that I’m still not at a level where we write off this team but questions do need to be asked of the commitment of those that are motivating at the helm.
Are we getting the most out of those on the park and what exactly are we doing in our build up to games on the training ground??
Knuckle down and crack on or have the gonads to say enough is enough! Barrow AFC is not a holiday home and it’s time to stand strong and poke your heads above the parapet.
Sorry but there are clubs within our remit that do make it work. Without excuses it’s up to us as a team, a town a football club to overcome those obstacles and prove ourselves worthy as an EFL club. Stop feeling sorry for ourselves dust ourselves down and fight on!
We have come so far together, let’s not give up our fight, for sure the back biting doesn’t help at times. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism but sometimes this forum goes well beyond that. Unity is Strength and always will be💪
