Just reflecting on yesterday’s performance, it seems we either kickstart other teams seasons or get their manager sacked. We looked like the better footballing team in the first half, playing it on the ground more than Ipswich and pressing them when they were in possession. They came out stronger in the second half and the crowd (who booed them off at HT) got behind them, but we weathered that. Both teams had chances towards the end, with their’s being closer. It’s been said before, but we just need someone to put goals away and we will be fine. Good turnout by Barrow fans, noisy as ever, but poor attendance overall. It took me a while to get back to Derbyshire so I can’t imagine how long the return to Barrow took. Confident about the return match.

Looks like HObson's choice for the TV cameras, though Barrow v Ipswich doesn't exactly look mouth watering to the neutral. One thing they will get at Holker Street is noise and atmosphere.

Great weekend not long back and loved Ipswich, some amazing buildings some quirky pubs and friendly people in the main.
But it was all topped off by that result yesterday. Must admit I was concerned when I saw our back line thinking they would exploit our lack of pace at the back but to a man we were immense from start to finish. We were the better side for the most part of the first half. They upped the anti second half but we were resolute lady luck smiled at us when they had an effort riffle the cross bar. Mark Ellis was superb but he wasn’t on his own. We get to dream a little longer and who knows how long we can keep the dream alive for.

Looks like HObson's choice for the TV cameras, though Barrow v Ipswich doesn't exactly look mouth watering to the neutral. One thing they will get at Holker Street is noise and atmosphere.

As a neutral (I support Swindon), a lower ranked team at home against a higher ranked one is far more interesting than a lot of the games the broadcasters usually choose.

I thought we played well. We kept the ball for long spells and looked organised. However; the same old problem regarding the lack of goals. Gordon's header hit the post when it should have hit the net (he was offside, anyway). The header from Ellis should have opened the scoring too. Another opportunity wasted. The addition of Zanzala in the closing 30 mins caused Ipswich very few problems.

Great result. However, I can't see us beating Ipswich in the replay - or anybody else - due to our totally ineffective strike force.

Mark Cooper has moulded us into an organised team who can play good football at times. We're a team that's difficult to beat. Unfortunately, the chances of us winning games is becoming remotely slim. We can't score goals for love or money

Forget about FA Cup glory. If Carlisle and Oldham start to pick up points we could be doomed to to relegation by Christmas. Carlisle play away at Mansfield on Tuesday - that's winnable. Scunthorpe are away at Stevenage the same evening - that's winnable.

There are three games between now and Christmas. You are saying that if we don't score in the next three matches there is zero chance of survival, which is bordering on the hysterical. Got it?

No; that's not what I'm saying. Three games = nine points (if won)

If Carlisle/Oldham/Scunthorpe win their next three? Which could happen. And we lose our next three? Salford, Swindon and Northampton - 3 top table sides. We'll in a very precarious position. Hysterical? No.
Pessimistic? Yes.

But after watching our recent performances in front of goal my pessimism has not been diluted. Goals win games.
Forget about winning games. We haven't scored a goal since October 30th when Rochdale beat us 2-1 at home.

Oldham visit on the 28th December. It's possible that going into January we could be 8 points behind them - possibly 11 - after the visit of Bradford. There's not many teams in this league that could overhaul an 11 point deficit

I hope I'm wrong. But January seems a long way off to wait for a new striker

Got to admit that when we drew at home to Scunthorpe then lost at home to Crawley the alarm bells began to ring for me.
