Not true. Rochdale were in the 3rd tier when we played them in the 3rd round.

They are the lowest placed high-placed team we have faced though!

As we ourselves were at a lower level then my argument in a round-about way may be comparatively correct.

Two divisions between us in each case. I just remembered another one - Bolton were also in the 3rd tier when we played them in 1991.

I went to that, made a good account of ourselves IIRC…a great day out.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Me too. Went with my Dad who is sadly no longer with us. Remember going on the special charter train and getting a police frogmarch from Bolton station to the ground. Tony Philiskirk spoiled the day with the only goal of I remember rightly.

Annoying thing is that Liverpool with their massive squad are apparently trying to have their tie postponed throwing in the Covid card alongside injuries and the Africas Cup.

Absolutely no chance of us scoring - will have to hope for a replay.

Our attacking options for Saturday seem very limited - and we can't play for a draw! Probably start with Zanzala and James up front and bring Sea on second half? Alternatively Zanzala as front man with Kay and James behind him? Overall, we are almost down to bare bones.

On thing for sure is that there will be no replay. There will be a result on the day even if its extra time and penalties..No replay

No replays in Round 3 this year, it is played to a result on the day through extra time and penalties.

Zanzala with Kay and Stevens either side of him would be my guess
