The Club can confirm that Levi Gill has informed the Board of his decision to stand down from the role of Chief Executive.

Levi was appointed in the newly formed position in July 2020 and oversaw the Club’s transition from National League champions to members of the EFL amidst the challenges of a global pandemic.

Alisha Henry has now been confirmed as the Club’s new General Manager, and Levi will remain in his role until the end of January to ensure a smooth handover.

“On behalf of myself and the Board, I would like to thank Levi for all his hard work over the past 18 months,” said Chairman, Paul Hornby.

“In what has been an unconventional period with COVID-19 and getting us up to speed quickly with all the EFL requirements, it’s certainly been a challenging environment.

“However, we’re now in a stable position with a good organisational structure and people running the Club, for which Levi deserves huge credit.

“From a personal point of view, Levi was the first Supporters’ Trust representative, and he really helped the process of making this structure work by managing expectations on both sides.

“He was a great support to me in this position; therefore, we shouldn’t forget his role in shaping the Barrow AFC we have today.

“We all wish him the very best for the next steps in his career and I am sure that he will be no stranger to the Club in the future.”

The Club will not currently be taking any applications for the role of Chief Executive but will look to review the overall situation at the end of the season.

We can also confirm that Kelly Moxham will take interim charge of the Club’s sponsorship and hospitality, while Aaron Archer has begun work with The Bluebirds under the government’s Kick Start scheme and we wish them both good luck in their new roles.

It says Levi has decided to step down from his role. To be fair he gets called out on here a lot without anyone knowing how hard he works behind the scenes etc. So maybe he has another job to move onto that’s not under scrutiny from people who don’t have a clue how a football league club is run.

I think everyone board included have had a hard lesson in how much upgrading from volunteers to more qualified people is required for a league 2 club with the extra responsibilities that brings.Our frequently mentioned small staff list required expanding and the extra time required means a phase of volunteers stepping back new people arriving and given time to bed in.IF Levi was not getting job satisfaction anymore or it didn’t turn out to be the role he thought it would be or he read all the grumbles on here and thought why am I bothering it understandable he is leaving.It could be he has got a better offer elsewhere so good luck Levi hope you happy in what you do next.Feel sure you be back on the terraces thanks for your efforts.
