Agree..... Also you wouldn't let Zanzala go if you didn't have an immediate replacement coming in. KTF

Might be wrong but I'm not particularly buying this idea that Hartlepool snatched Carver as his pen was raised ready to sign for us. Firstly I have seen rumours suggesting that Pools have paid quite a bit more than the £20k reported. Secondly I've also seen comments that Carver will be on a significant uplift on his previous salary suggesting that he is seen as an impoatant if not marquee signing. Thirdly whilst I'm quite prepared to believe that we might have been interested in him at the right price, I'm not sure we'd have wanted to, or have been prepared to, get into a bidding battle with Pools. Lastly Cooper would not have known much if anything about Carver (few at the club would these days) and chasing players with an open cheque book is simply not his style. And particularly not in mid season.

If Pools were determined to get him and were prepared to shell out I dont see us wanting to play. I'd be more inclined to be looking at a club like FGR where Cooper has a good knowledge of the playing staff. But lets see.

It’s Tuesday, if we haven’t signed a striker before Saturday people can have a grumble. For now just keep the faith that we will get someone in (and probably someone better than Marcus Carver)

Don't think anything would be done until Zanzala was signed sealed and delivered. If that had broken down after a new man had been signed we would have had probably too many strikers of varying abilities. There could be many reasons why no signing yesterday (perhaps in hindsight MC should have said 'hoped to sign' ) and if the original target got away then I have faith that we have others ready to step in.

I’m definitely not grumbling, merely an observation, a discussion point if you will. I’m fully supportive and trusting of MC.

Luke Charman is worth a shout, released from Newcastle despite scoring regularly for U23’s. Has been on fire for Darlington in the NL North this season scoring 12 from 12 so far. Has had a loan spell with Accrington in L1.

Jesus Christ, some of the people on here…. Just because he’s said they are signing a striker Monday doesn’t mean it has to be announced Monday. It doesn’t mean any deal has fell through because it hasn’t been announced.

If they were signing a striker Monday then he most likely will of done it and it will get announced when the club are ready to, some people need to stop the panicking

If Harris is ok to play on Saturday great, if not we have players in the current squad like Sea & James who can get the goals or just put Kay up front.

Didn't Sea go off injured and how many goals has him and James got this season? Think Sea is on 2 and James 0 so wouldn't count on that strike partnership. Happily proved wrong and I'd take a 0-1 from an own goal if it gets us the points

Think sea went off more knackered than injured. Didn’t look like he could run after 15 minutes or so
