Wonder if Ellis will come in to at least challenge Smith in the air. Whoever was scouting for Salford yesterday will have left just thinking we’ve got a 6 foot 6 striker, just get plenty of crosses in

Well, certainly he must have been sitting on the sidelines yesterday wondering why he was there rather than in the middle of that penalty area!

Last season we signed Davies who showed us the quality we need in this league, I thought we would have signed 2 similar players, we didn't we signed Ellis good competiter but too slow.
don't know what's going on with platt he gave away a sloppy goal against Bradford and again yesterday him and Jones weren't at the races.
People not blaming Cooper,?
we start the second half against 10 men with 3 central defenders why ? we've signed a lad from Leicester to score goals he's on the bench, he plays a young lad up front by himself while he gave all it's too much to ask to play in this league against a top team without any support!
When Stevens plays he always creates something but now he's not picked at times yesterday we looked all over the place SURELY it's his job to sort this out YES the defence was awful yesterday but the way we start games team selection formation is down to him .
Oldham, Scun**orpe ,Bradford and now yesterday the home performances have no energy desire etc I don't know why but it can't carry on !

As bad as the three centre backs were yesterday I'd be tempted to drop Glennon of anyone, put Brough back at LWB and move Ellis into the back three.

I don't disagree about sticking with him as little would be achieved by changing now.

However I would still like to know why he was sacked by FGR when they were in, or on the verge of, the play-offs. I know they had dropped points before the sacking and were on a bad run but why was that?

Had he changed the style of play to something like he is now employing at Barrow, producing similar results? Was it his team choice?

If so it could explain a lot.

Look where FGR are now under a new manager!

Really soft goals to concede, feels like every goal we concede is soft.

We’ve underperformed this season but never really been well beaten, Cooper is the man to take us forward a couple of wins and everything will look a lot rosier.
It may not be too thrilling but finishing anything 21st and upwards it’s a success in my eyes.

R/E Stevens I always feel he’s lively but not sure where he actually fits into the 5-3-2 system tbh, more of a natural winger

Yes , let us see next season what he can do, the players are not all his signings at Barnsley they played out their skins so there is something there, hate the booing of our own team only felt like that once and that was at Shore Lane in the the F.A. cup, we will stay up and if we finish one place above last season that is a success.

Vince has history for it. He sacked Pennock before the Conference playoffs and appointed Cooper. Probably trying to make it work again.

Totally agree with Jim's assessment of the game.I think he was spot on when he said the players let the manager down.Yesterday looked like they had forgotten all they had practised in training. At times they were like rabbits stuck in the headlights.I just hope it was an aberration and they regain their form for Tuesday night against Salford. If they don,t you will find supporters deserting them. These are professional footballers who are well paid and we deserve better.

I find MC post match interviews fairly balanced. He recognises and praises the team work rate when we deserve it and says it how it is when he thinks we could have been better. This was one of those few games that he felt we could have been better and it looks like most would agree with that. Too often we fail to stop balls coming into the box from out wide and too often we get out-fought in the air. That’s two areas in the build-up that we are coming out second best in. Did we ever see McNulty/P Jones getting so easily beaten in the air? This will continue unless we show more strength and aggression in those situations. He was disappointed in the manner in which we conceded and hopefully the team take it on board. None of these teams are stand out fantastic- they are all much the same- dealing with crosses and at set pieces is the order of the day so we need to be better in those situations.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Just seen the highlights and im sticking by my comments earlier, why the [SwearFilter] wont Farman come for crosses?? The 1st and 3rd goals he could have had. They arent even difficult, slow clipped in balls. Id be dissappoint if a west lancs keeper wouldnt come for them. Very very poor, i liked him but you cant just be a decent shot stopper. He could take loads of pressure off his back line

He's never come for crosses. Not going to start now.
