Going to pick up on the decision to drop Banks- big decision but how much quicker did we get the ball forward!!. Rooney was pulling the strings out there and the energy of Gotts and Beading- we won the midfield battle early on.
Biggest positive for from me was right from the off we closed down and hit them hard. You’ve got to do this every game.

Well that was unreal…I’ve been saying all week we’d get at least one totally surprising result in the upcoming games, but four goals against FGR…!!

One of those games where it’s unfair to pick a single player out for praise, but I will - Holloway, he’s taken some stick (and rightly so) but this was bar far his best game for us, an assist and a bullet header, fantastic.

A proper performance right throughout the team.

Well that’s made my weekend, I watch from afar now but still have a big soft spot for Barrow and todays result was definitely what the players supporters and club needed.
I remember last years away game at FGR and the celebrations of a fantastic win to secure L2 safety, hope we can see those same celebrations again very soon.

A superb team performance from beginning to end, played like a cup final with precise defending and attacking, earning a thoroughly deserved four goals against the lead leaders and a clean sheet. Our goal difference alone is worth an extra point and the confidence gained should be a major plus for the remaining five games.

We didn’t let Forest Green into the game at any point, even after they made three changes on the hour. All through the game we looked the most likely to score, and four different players added to the goal tally.

A couple of weeks ago, Port Vale broke away and scored from one of our corners. Today, Forest Green gained the first corner in the 4th minute. Our superb breakaway involving Kay, Gotts, Rooney and Hutton then gained us our first corner, Rooney’s delivery from the right eventually falling to Grayson who shot from close range at the far post.

The best possible start and we kept up the pressure with a further corner and free kick. However, soon we would come under pressure from the visitors. A 12th minute Adams cross was cleared for a Cadden corner, from which March headed just over the bar. Six minutes later, Farman made a great one-on-one block from Adams.

However, Forest Green chances would soon be few and far between as we continued to dominate the game, snuffing out their attacks with excellent blocks and challenges, and maximizing use of our possession with an incisiveness which has been eluding us for much of the season.

Twenty minutes in, a good run and shot from Rooney went just wide of the right post. Just before the half hour, Cadden was booked for a challenge on Brown.

A 31st minute Cadden corner was well-defended, Farman saving from Sweeney, and three minutes later Rooney tested McGee with a free-kick following a Wilson handball, the keeper punching away his effort at the left post for a corner.

A minute later, March was booked for fouling Brown. A Gotts cross was then put out for a Rooney corner. Shortly after, Kay then fed Amadi-Hollway who centred the ball for Rooney to make it two from close range in the 38th minute.

In the 43rd minute Gotts was booked for a foul on March but we saw the half-out with our two-goal cushion intact, even gaining a last kick corner in the fifth minute of time added.

Grayson had gone down injured in the 45th minute and at half time was replaced by Brough.

A second half revival by Forest Green never arrived, thanks to the sterling efforts of the Barrow players to prevent this by going for every ball. Kay went down for treatment three minutes in and a 52nd minute cross from Cadden was confidently caught by Farman.

A minute later, the Bluebirds were 3-0 up. A Hutton cross was put out for a Rooney corner from which Platt headed in from close range.

Two minutes later, Cargill was penalised for a handball giving Rooney a free kick which was cleared. On the hour, just after Farman easily caught another Cadden effort, the visitors made three substitutions, Young, Godwin-Malife and Aitchison coming on for Cargill, Sweeney and Barnard.

This failed to have any impact on the game which was still controlled by Barrow. In the 66th minute, Gordon came on for Kay and was booked for a foul on Wilson four minutes later.

Another Cadden effort came in for Farman to catch in the 71st minute, and two minutes later he also shot past the right post.

Great defensive blocks by Barrow continued with Platt on top form and Adams was booked in the 75th minute as frustration by the league leaders started to show. Three minutes later, Williams replaced Hutton and was immediately fouled earning another Rooney free-kick.

In the 82nd minute, a run by Matt gave March a shot on goal which Farman again confidently saved.

The ecstatic Bluebirds portion of the 3,098 crowd were in fine voice, keeping the team going to the very end. The 196 Forest Green supporters were to leave disappointed as the superb Gotts earned yet another Barrow corner in the 90th minute and even a consolation goal was beyond their team on the day.

The icing on the cake came in the second minute of added time as a towering header from Amadi-Holloway met another Rooney corner for Barrow’s fourth.

Rooney was awarded Barrow’s man of the match on a brilliant afternoon where it seemed unfair to pick one player out from a top-class team performance. If we can maintain these efforts in our remaining games, we will be safe.

The players weren't squabbling at each other and right from the off looked confident and happy to be playing. Such a good team to watch today, so many times this season I've gone home feeling depressed. Steak for the dog tonight
