And, as a journalist, I would expect you to at least get your facts correct.

Adam is not a journalist. His employment is miles away from that profession.
He is a Barrow fan who stepped up and was selected to be the commentator for our games after being involved as a volunteer with Radio Lonsdale the local hospital broadcaster and he does a brilliant job
He puts the hours in researching facts on our own players and opponents to make the broadcast interesting to those listening in both home and away.

My main reflection after yesterday was that even after nearly 60 years of support and thinking you have seen it all, that the game and the club continues to defy my expectations. I did not see that coming.

I haven't been very thrilled about Phil Browns appointment and I'm not sure I completely go with his idea of a three game "pre season" but his tactics yesterday showed a very experienced campaigners approach. The difficult decision to put Rooney front and centre instead of Banks was really significant and turned out to be a really positive one. I feel for Ollie because he's put his heart and soul into the club this season, no doubt about that. But he's been showing the signs of mental fatigue for a while and as Phil Brown pointed out he's not an instinctive sharer but tries to do it all himself. Rooney is a warrior, a communicator and a leader. He needs to captain this team in the next five games. Also my vote for POTS will probably go to Connor Brown, who despite being frequently undervalued, is another warrior who has stood up and been counted on numerous occasions. He is part of the beating heart of this club. I was never his greatest fan. But I am now.

Just shows that no matter how good a defence you have it is goals that change and win games. You might look at the stats summary from yesterdays game without knowing the result and come to the conclusion that FGR would have dominated the game but you cannot account for who scores the goals and when. Yesterday this became really clear. Not just that the goals were scored but the timing of them.

We were probably not as far gone as I, like many others thought. Similarly one win, even as good as this one does not save the season. There seems to be a view that a wounded FGR will give Oldham a walloping on Monday. Though I truly hope so, I'm not so sure that will happen. FGR have been a little flaky for several weeks and looked frankly demoralised by the end of yesterday's match. Their top scorer Stevens is also out for the season. But they do have as much incentive as Oldham and are at home. And are just a win or so short of promotion if not the title.

When we get to this end of the season, the issue of who you play is often mitigated by the situation the opposition is in and their collective mindset. As we saw yesterday there may be a retained memory in the FGR mindset of what happened to them last season and this can quite easily translate into behaviour on the pitch. So the fact that we got our fixtures out of the way against bottom 8 teams early I dont believe is as worrying as it might look.

However the biggest benefit as far as I can see (apart from the three points and a spectacular 6 GD swing with Oldham) from yesterdays game was that the team were able to switch on and seize control of their destiny. For weeks we have been riding on the back of the poor results of others. It feels like that collective depression and anxiety if not actually blown away must have significantly changed following yesterdays result and that we now have it in ourselves to determine the outcome.

Don't be so stupid. I'm 77 years old and started watching Barrow at the age of 5! Even though I left Barrow many years ago I've followed the fortunes of the team through thick and thin ever since so why on earth would I want them to go down. If you have a brain, use it before you write rubbish.

Couple of things I noticed yesterday were that ball got moved quickly, and usually forward much more that previously this season. Also the running off the ball was non stop.The pace of the game was high, and FGR were hardly able to settle. Even though the ball got moved forward very fast it wasn't boring hoofball (like Paul Cox), but there seemed to be almost constant expectation and excitement. Best showing of the season by far.
