I for one am coming up 68 and also a season ticket holder.I love the chants that come from.the Holker St End and these are probably young lads who get wrapped up in the spirit of the game and will often show their exuberance by doing daft things.
I can remember when I used to daft things when I was younger.When I now go to games I tend to stand towards the back of the stands so I can watch the young lads getting excited by the game without getting caught up in it all.
Like has already been said,a lot of these lads become lifelong supporters like me.I sometimes still get told off by my mate for shouting and joining in the chants as I now tend to go in the popular side where most of the older supporters tend to stand.I still get excited when a goal goes in and we haven,t had a lot of them this season.
Long may Barrow AFC continue to attract younger supporters as they are the future of the club and if they sometimes act a bit daft accept it as we were all young once.
I waited 48 yrs to see this club back in the Football League and if it means that we have to put up with a bit of exuberance to grow the support of the club and strengthen the financial position of Barrow AFC so be it.Every club has young lads like this and as they get older and have families of their own they settle down but the key thing to remember is that their children often become future supporters.
Once a Barrow supporter, always a Barrow supporter.
