If you look at Neil Critchley at Blackpool who came from Liverpool u23s and Rob Edwards who came from England U16s to Forest Green you have to ask yourself when hiring a manager is EFL managerial experience essential ?

Only thing you need to factor in with Rob Edwards is that he had 2 of the best strikers in the division i.e. Matty Stevens and Jamil Matt. Take those two out and they were bang average and could barely win a game. My point is it doesn't matter who the manager is, you need reliable/productive goalscorers and I seriously doubt FGR would have got prompted with Josh Gordon and Luke James.

I completely agree and I would like to see us choose someone trying to make a name for themselves from a lower division or an U-23 side, rather than another failed EFL manager looking for another payout. By all means ask such people and hope that they take on the challenge but sometimes former league managers who have not been successful drop down to a lower division or U23's and are quite happy rather than once again live with the increased pressure of the EFL. We had an example of that with Rob Kelly. Anyway let's hope it's settled soon and this time we get it right.

Look at Paul Cook really good and respected league manager but has now lost the edge watched Chesterfield a few times and with a bigger budget than ours and they looked bang average devoid of any attacking ideas!

Danny Rowe being out for them probably didn't help and the circumstances of their previous managers departure were unusual too ala Darren Sheridan!

Paul Cook is one I would actually go for if Chesterfield don't manage to get promotion which I don't think they will. Harshly sacked by Ipswich did a great job before that at Wigan, Portsmouth and Chesterfield earlier. North-West based, experienced but still hungry enough and very passionate.
The sort of manager who generally builds over 2-3 years too not a short term fix.

Can't honestly think of anyone more experienced, realistically within our reach and who might be interested.

If we were to go for a young person how about Sam Hird, was well thought of here last time and got involved in the coaching and and has now had a year at Bolton under Evatt. Maybe him with an older head alongside him.

They lost Kabongo Tshimanga in February to a fractured leg and ankle. At the time he was the leagues top scorer with 24 goals.

You can only choose from who’s available and those that come out best from the interviewing process and even then you are still left hoping you’ve made the right selection. Fingers crossed things work out can we find another Evatt

He done a decent job for Carlisle, unfortunately the guy he had to work with (David Holdsworth) had too much input and made it harder for Beech.

Apparently Brown was already lining up players whom at least one has hardly played and he also wanted more money and FAR too much power, we've dodged a bullet there he'd have bankrupted us !

I have refrained from commenting on potential managers, but I have to say that Chris Beech's interviews on radio C made me thoroughly depressed. I know things were tough, but dear me, he had a much charisma as a wet lettuce.

He's done exactly the same thing at some of the other clubs he's been sacked from. His rhetoric to local media was also exactly the same as he spun whilst he was here.
A great decision by the Board and one we should thank them for.

In a word Beech is way too weak in his demeanour and personality to be the manager of an EFL club hence he only signs weak players who will not be a challenge to his dressing room. He will be devasted that he didn't even get an interview for the recent vacancy at his home town club.
