Club have been given an extension due to it being a shorter close season this campaign

Aslong as they get all the plans in place and submitted by the last game of the season then they can do the work in the summer

Radio Cumbria has its critics on here but what other station would cover a pointless friendly like that ? I was listening briefly last Sat and they went round a load of cricket matches with a commentator there giving regular updates, Rugby games as well. It’s great coverage of local sport in my opinion.

Regarding the away end and lack of expansion until next season, is anything been done about segregation barrier? The perspex, sheeting thing looked poor and it got pretty embarrassing reading the complaints from different teams week after week. I appreciate their hand was forced to do something after the first game last season but there's nothing like that anywhere else.

Radio Carlisle does have its critics .
We are continually told its driven by phone ins.
Two Fridays ago a substantial part of the programme was talking to the Manager of Carlisle then the players.
I would question is Carlisle United more pro active in the media field and Barrow so poor at it or is it a bias.

As Carlisle are the second Club in the County they should not get anymore coverage but that may be our lack of media nouse.

The BBC is being torn apart with the exerdous of staff and Government cuts.
Does anyone think this coverage will last if funding is cut.

There's no chance of the licence fee being renewed when it comes up again. That's when we might see big changes, or they might even have to start taking ads.

It never ceases to amaze me how much money Radio Cumbria spend. A few weeks ago I was at a cricket match and other than the players I counted 12 spectators. Radio Cumbria had a bloke there broadcasting reports.I thought if there’s only 12 people bothered to turn up to watch why spend money covering it. Surely that money could be used on other parts of their output.

Their Sports Coverage is very through - the Carlisle United reporter - ( the guy with a slight lisp) always tends to give the people he interviews a hard time. Never afraid of asking tough questions - someone said he was taken off air for a spell last season - presuming it was something said on air because apparently Radio Cumbria had to issue an on air apology.

But you can’t fault the degree of coverage I can’t believe many radio stations would cover pre-season friendlies.

Such as? Personally I think the coverage of local sport is great. Cricket coverage being just one. Helen Millican who has been presenting the Saturday summer sports shows on Radio Cumbria is excellent and a font of all knowledge
