There will be another visit this SATURDAY (Fathers Day Sunday..) starting at anytime from 8:30 onwards and up to 12:00-12:30pm

If anyone falls into any of these catergories and have a spare few hours you'd be a great help -

Someone who doesnt mind working off a ladder and painting (exterior work & nothing specialist). Two ideally for this as someone will need to foot the ladder.
Someone who is up to an average DIY level skill-wise.
An electrician.
Someone who is an average painter to do some work in the changing rooms.

If you fancy helping out can you please let us know either on here, PM, e-mail (ianrainford@aol.com) or text. Tea, coffee and a bite to eat will be put on during the morning.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

A few “before & after” of the home changing room upgrade. It’s not finished yet but another two Sundays should do it.
From wooden benches to the sponge leatherette covers, new cubicles to match the main part of the changing room, lighting replaced and new sockets put in, a lick of paint, white board up and there will be a new TV going in shortly. The flooring has been paid for by the club and finishes it off very well.
Club badges and coat hooks to go in and that should be it..

Weeds being taken out throughout the ground, the rest will be killed off with weed killer in the coming weeks…we never had it to hand today which wasn’t great planning!!

The extra seating has gone in in the home and away dugouts (EFL requirement)
The area around the mast has been weeded, tidied up and painted. It wasn’t a great first impression when walking into the fanzone so a much better look to it now.
Various areas of the ground have been give a coat of paint to match the “new” blue.

Not that important but it’s the small touches sometimes, the physio room had the fridge connected to the power by an extension cable, we replaced that with new trunking so the sockets were above the fridge. The signage…taped to a wall with plasters! We bought some frames which just make it look that bit neater & tidy.

A “thank you” to the two ladies who look after us each week.
Elaine has the teas & coffees running all morning and has everything ready for 10:00 o’clock brew time….even with her recovering ankle!
Marion makes the sandwiches and sausage rolls every week for us.
Makes the mornings so much more pleasant.

All of the above wouldn’t be possible without so many people giving their time and skills for free week after week, that’s the easy part. We couldn’t take on these jobs/projects without funding and donations and we’ve been very lucky that the NSC have supported us year after year with quite large amounts of cash. Tony Shearer has also made a sizeable contribution each summer to us. Our sponsors over the years have also been fantastic at helping us out as well - which brings us to this years sponsor, at the moment we don’t have one! so if you or someone you know would be interested in helping us out please get in touch either through here or at ianrainford@aol.com
We don’t have a fixed amount and it certainly doesn’t have to be expensive….basically whatever is offered is something we didn’t have.

Without all of this help we definitely couldn’t take on the jobs we do.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Tremendous as always Ian & crew, I will set up a DD or S order when I’m over this week from my UK bank, I’ve promised this for a while now so I will pin it down for sure :scarf:

Thanks for sorting direct debit out Mike, if anyone else fancies sorting a direct debit the details are on the title of this thread.
The account is with the Furness Builing society and any amounts are welcome.
100% of the funds are used for materials/parts for the jobs we do.
Thanks all

Many thanks to Steve Leonard of Winders Accountants who after reading that we were looking for a sponsor very quickly got in touch and everything was sorted after a couple of texts.
Steve was actually the first person to sponsor us (several years ago now) so it was very good of him to do the same once again.
The GMV header has now been changed to show the new sponsor.

Also many thanks to Mark Cooksey of VIV who has been our sponsor for the last year.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Happy to help Ian - might even manage a trip to Holker Street this season!!
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Can only echo what Ian has said.
Big thanks for our previous sponsors (VIV) and Winders who have kindly sponsored us this season.
Also the NSC for their continued support.
Without these people we wouldn't be able to carry on.

Another ground visit this coming Sunday.

As this is the first decent weather forecast we’ve had for weeks now (on Sundays) we’re desperate to get as much outdoor painting done as possible…and there is a LOT.
There is a gate to gloss and also a bit of glossing to do in the away changing rooms, but the most important areas are various outdoor walls and the blue band around the main building.
The blue band above the reception area is only accessible by our scaffolding, then there are the double blue bands inside the ground, the upper band will need to be reached by ladders but the lower area is at a comfortable standing height. We could definitely do with these knocking off the list as all are visible from either the outside and obviously inside the ground so quite important they are done before the first friendly.
Even if you can’t, or don’t want to become a regular but feel you could help us out this weekend it’d be a massive help.
Tea/coffee & food will be supplied during the morning.

If you are interested could you either reply on here, PM, text or e-mail one of us.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Bump.

We could still use anyone who can lift a paint brush for tomorrow…

8:30 onwards.
