The “new” blue going on the main building, this is what we needed the extra help with…unfortunately we only had two extra volunteers, which was fantastic but still held up other jobs as we had to put other people on it as well. If we’d have had four/five extra bodies the whole of the blue areas would’ve had its first coat completed today. Having said, that and considering two regulars were on holiday we still had a decent twelve/fourteen lads and lasses.

Two of the home changing rooms, nearly finished but taking people off this job to paint has knocked it back a week or so.
At least the main work has been done so now its just a case of sanding the cubicles down and refreshing the stain and sticking the new club badges up plus a few other finishing touches and it’ll be ready for the first friendly.

The drain cover in the away changing room showers which was sitting too high and couldn’t be cleaned underneath. The tiles were cut away and the cover dropped back in.
The gentleman in the picture live in Gloucestershire (I think that’s right) and was visiting family in Barrow and decided to pop down to help out for the morning. AndyG (off here) also drove up from Manchester especially to help us today, then there’s Nick who drives for forty minutes either way every week to volunteer. Amazing really.
Plenty of thee things going on including bins being hosed out, weeds being taken out and seats in the main stand being cleaned.
Once again we were all looked after by Elaine and Marion….with the extra treat of scones today.

The last before & afters of the home changing rooms. The final touches such as the club badges & coat hooks were put in today. The main work obviously went into the extended area but the original room was also given a freshen up.
Many thanks to the NSC for helping to fund this project along with a contribution set up by Iain Woods off Tony Shearer.

Just bit of a plug for the NSC. These people have funded a lot of our projects over the last eight or nine years so if you have a spare few quid it really is worth joining them for a seasons membership.

The painting continued around various areas of the ground today, mainly by the away fans turnstiles and the higher blue band facing the pitch on the main building.

We found this framed shirt under the main stand but the glass had been smashed, we got a new piece put in and it’s back on display on the stairs leading to the X Bar.
