Think that quite a lot of the time even when the program is directed at Barrow they still can’t help themselves but mention Carlisle. I know it drives me mad and that is maybe why people gripe.

Re: Lincoln match commentary
It’s the Tuesday sport show Louis
The first hour is a general look back at the weekends games, we don’t get team news until 6:45pm so before that we take a look back at the weekend
It’s exactly the same if it was a Tuesday without a barrow game
Re: Lincoln match commentary
I understand that but I am referring to anytime James Philips gets involved or any else from further North they always mention or draw comparisons to Carlisle. It is never the other way round hence why many call it Radio Carlisle. This is just my observation as they can’t help themselves

Re: Lincoln match commentary
No we will be DAB+ and AM as always or audio on the barrow website
Re: Lincoln match commentary
Observed, it’s not about the Barrow commentary which is very good, nor the various features and articles we have like the fan phone in, it’s the general link up and discussion in between features which always seem to have a Carlisle pre / post match analytical bias. Even the other night in the previews of the Barrow / Lincoln game, Phillips still managed to draw a comparison between Lincoln and Carlisle.Louis29 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 7:10 amI understand that but I am referring to anytime James Philips gets involved or any else from further North they always mention or draw comparisons to Carlisle. Re: Lincoln match commentary
To be fair it’s better than the RL coverage that the 3 teams get only online now. I was devoid of any internet reception last weekend and thought I would put the 5 o’clock news on and nothing mentioned sport wise except for the PL games results. BBC scrapping the results service on a Sat seems to be a portent of things to come it’s going to online or nothing in a few years .

Re: Lincoln match commentary
To be fair the reason behind them going online for the rugby was for the amount of complaints week in week out that supporters couldn’t get to listen to their team.Back of the net wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 3:40 pm To be fair it’s better than the RL coverage that the 3 teams get only online now. Going online means they can broadcast all 3 teams and supporters can hear commentaries from the 3
Re: Lincoln match commentary
There is some truth in what you say, Jonty. I noticed recently (Sutton match I think) that when Radio C finally went over to Adam for pre match, the first 5 minutes or so was a discussion between Philips and the ex-Carlisle co-commentator about his playing days.Jonty wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 3:39 pm it’s the general link up and discussion in between features which always seem to have a Carlisle pre / post match analytical bias. Re: Lincoln match commentary
Phillips must mention Carlisle at least 7 times in his last interview with Pete wild

So we can look forward to that in future ? Barrow , Carlisle, Wukkie , Kendal etc don’t believe for a second that was the reason the BBC went for online only commentary it’s going to happen for all sports shortly.

All depends if the EFL change their current stance and allow online commentaries for EFL games. Currently there is no indication that is going to change. As for the Rugby league what they have now is miles better than what they had previous. Fans of Barrow Whitehaven and workington can now listen to full match commentary instead of what they had. Updates and only one match fully covered.

Re: Lincoln match commentary
So would you be happy to only have online commentary for all BAFC games ?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 5:34 pmBack of the net wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 5:32 pm

Re: Lincoln match commentary
Personally speaking I would be fine with it but it would have limitations for some folk. Many BBC local radio stations are no longer available on medium wave and FM is due to be phased out by 2032.Give it another five years so all radio will be is either DAB or online IMO.Back of the net wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 5:43 pmSo would you be happy to only have online commentary for all BAFC games ?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 5:34 pm

I agree with you but I don’t think DAB will be in the equation feel sorry for folk that either can’t afford to be online or don’t want to.
